I really enjoyed how relaxed the Camelot Beach Hotel was. The staff were all very friendly, the room was comfortable and the restaurant had a nice buffet. Of course the beach was lovely, this was a great place to stay at the end of my trip to Sri Lanka - it was nice to have some relaxing walks on the beach prior to me long journey home :) I would definitely stay here again.

Decent quality 3 star hotel on negombo seafront. Nice garden facing the beach and great views of sunsets. Guests were a mixed crowd of locals and foreign tourists. Check in process was slow and inefficient. Staff seemed to struggle to process a group booking ahead of us and told us to wait. This took more than half hour. The older lady who showed us to our room incorrectly told us that there was no room service. Her younger male colleague confirmed there was room service and said he was frustrated with this older ladies capability to do her job. We struggled on our first night as the air con didn't work. The maintenance staff struggled to fix the issue and we had to be moved. Many of the sockets were not to the current Sri Lankan /UK standard. In other words they were the 3 round pin sockets.. Buffet on the saturday was very good and wide ranging. Sunday was a lot worse, we think it may have been cos there were less guests All in all a mixed bag but the staff are reasonably friendly, garden is nice. Rooms need updating but compared to some so called 4 star rival hotels i would say this place is decent value for money.

Overall, not a bad hotel. Staff were initially welcoming. However, I booked 2 nights, rather than 1 night and a late check out as I would be using the room until around midnight on the second night so felt it more appropriate to try get a sleep before my flight. At around 1820, the phone rang in my room whilst trying to nap to invite me to some christmas event in the lobby. They weren't to know I was napping but I said no thank you and advised I was trying to sleep before an early flight. No apology, suggesting they didn't really understand what I was saying. At around 9pm the phone rang *again* in the room asking if I could bring my passport to reception as they forgot to take a photo copy. Really frustrating as I told them I was trying to sleep and would be checking out around midnight. Again, no apology. I then went to ask to speak to a manager who said he'd try sort something for check out - I asked for some kind of partial refund as I couldn't get the required peace and quiet use out of the room that I paid for which I think is reasonable but alas, no. Really left a bad taste in my mouth and for that reason, just hope you won't have problems as they're unlikely to offer any kind of gesture by way of apology and they really can't read as to whether someone wants to be disturbed or not.

The hotel staff was amazing. Probably one of the best hotel staffs of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It is right on the beach, although there were a lot of hawkers, which was a little bothersome while you’re trying to relax. The two pools and pool bar were amazing, clean and inviting. My room came with complementary Breakfast and dinner and both had amazing food options.

I stayed here for 1 night before I joined a group trip in the hotel next door. The staff were amazing. They were continuously cleaning all areas of the hotel. As a solo female, I felt really safe and comfortable here. I booked a sea view room which was lovely and clean and a really good size. Both pools were a good size and nice temperature. The poolside staff would rush over with sun lounger cushions and towels as soon as you sat your things down next to a sun lounger. I re booked this hotel for my last 2 nights after my group trip. I wasn’t as impressed with my second room as the lock didn’t work on my door and it wasn’t updated and modern like my previous room (that’s just me being a snob). It was still clean and tidy and had all the facilities you could want and need. I raised my concerns about the lock with one of the hotel receptionists and he managed to change my room for me. There’s plenty of restaurants around. I highly recommend cafe Zen (right of hotel) and Boho (left of hotel) I would definitely stay here again!

The staff at reception, the dining room staff and the staff that maintain the rooms. The pool staff make sure that you all you need for a day by the pool or beach. The hotel gardens open out onto the beach. I will be back on my next visit to Sri Lanka in 2024.

A reasonable mid priced option next to a not so great beach. Easy distance to the airport and short walking distance to a dozen different dining options, a couple of supermarkets and a pharmacy. Good for first or last couple of nights. Rooms appear recently renovated. No lift though!! It’s a two story walk up scenario. Food was ok and well priced. Service a little slow though but still manageable. Basically good value for money, worth a look. But don’t expect too much.

Great hotel. Great location. Service & Food Buffet was impeccable. No Airport Shuttle service. Wanted to charge $30.00 USD for Airport Transfer. Recommend taking Uber instead.

Nice hotel, a little worn inside but pool and tiki bar are very nice. Breakfast buffet is excellent and huge. Staff was exceptional, bed comfy. For the price it is worth a stay.
