Dipndoze

Had an amazing experience at DipnDoze. The property was very clean and cosy, very close to the beach, and great value for money. The staff was excellent, they were very friendly and made it a very smooth stay. Amenities were good, clean washrooms and air-con! Would recommend it for solo travellers.

I had a excellent stay at Dipndoze, the dorm rooms were air-conditioned and well maintained. It was so easy getting around cuz everything worth doing in the area is so close by.

nice location, ordinary room for few nights

This place is not a hostel or a hotel. It has just three rooms above a cafe. The only good side is its location. It is just one minute away from Ahangama Train Station, so you don’t need to deal with tuk-tuk mafia. It is on the main road, probably in the most central location in Ahangama town. All famous cafes/bars are within walking distance. (The road and bars below can be a little noisy.) Very near to the beach. Negative sides: It is just a room, with no common areas or socialising opportunities. In the rooms, there is no chair or sofa, so you can basically use this place only to sleep. That’s all they offer! The private room definitely needs better cleaning and a mattress. Above the rooms, inside the ceiling, there are rats; you can hear them all night walking above you (not in the room, I mean on the roof of the room), which is also quite disturbing. Overall, if you only need to stay for a maximum of 2 days, due to the location it is a good option. For more than 2 days, I do not recommend it. I think it is not designed for long stays.
