Extremely friendly, courteous and professional staff. However, it is a one-person operation. Rooms are reasonably good with moderate amenities (no in room safe). Takes a good 10-12 min drive to go to restaurants/town. Breakfast is worth a 4*.

We spent 3 nights there with my family of 5 in two rooms. We found the location difficult to find on the evening we arrived as it was dark and raining. When we arrived we were met by the owner and his staff who helped us with the bags to the room. Given the location we were met by lots of bugs near the room entrance as the hallway lights were on. The owner was helpful and quickly sprayed bug repellant. The room itself was basic but super clean. We were surprised there wasn’t any air conditioning but that’s our fault for not reading the description before booking. The beds had mosquito nets just in case you had the occasional fly or insect and the fan in the room kept us reasonably cool. The views from the room were beautiful and the good thing is the trail to Ella rock runs past the property. We woke up to the sound of the train horns every morning and jumped out of bed to view it. The owner aimed to cater for our vegan breakfast needs but on occasion we found the toast was undercooked, or the Sri Lankan meals which are externally catered hadn’t cooked the meals to the standard of other Sri Lankan meals I’ve eaten. The breakfast is usually heated onsite and when it’s arrived the curry’s have been a little cold so we’ve had to send it back. After mentioning to the owner they’ve responded and aimed to please. Apart from that for the price, location cleanliness you can’t go wrong.

My brother, a Monk, my wife and I stayed here. The staff were so friendly and kind. Luckily, it is away from the coaches of tourists and is quiet and calm. The views are amazing.When we return to Ella we will stay here. No hesitation in recommending it.

Service and view

From the moment I arrived, the owner made me feel right at home. The room has an amazing view from the balcony and the four poster bed has a mosquito netting to keep unwanted bugs at bay. Breakfast is included and it is AMAZING!! Little things added to my happiness such as delivering food to my room and picking me up from town and driving me back. The owner also drove me 6 hours to the airport for a super cheap price. I definitely recommend this hotel completely - you get so much out of the price and they make you feel so special. Thank you!!

Our very comfortable room had the most amazing view. We were very well cared for and had a wonderful breakfast during our stay.

Excellent value for money , very clean great breakfast

The owner of the place was extremely helpful and polite. He even went out of his way to guide us how to get to the resort late at night. The room was sufficient and very clean. The elephant towel fold is an added extra. I’ll definitely would recommend and stay here again.

Friendly owner/host provided excellent service and served a huge, tasty homemade breakfast. A short tuck tuck ride from the noise of backpacker town Ella, we found it a welcome relief with a great view surrounded by sounds of nature. Comfortable bed too!

We had an extremely enjoyable two-night stay at Ella Dream Catcher Resort. The hotel is easily accessible by car or tuk-tuk and is located about 10 minutes from the city center, offering a peaceful setting while still being close to town. The host was incredibly welcoming and always eager to help, which made our stay even more comfortable. He also prepared a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast that we really enjoyed. Our room was very nice, clean, and comfortable, featuring a balcony with a beautiful view over Ella. We also appreciated the mosquito net for the bed. Highly recommended without any hesitation.

Nice hotel in a cute area with a nice view. Very practical if you want to climb to Ella Rock. Quiet at night but noisy in the morning, and curtains are not blackout ones. The bed are good, but the WiFi is capricious and very slow. Breakfast is good and the people are very nice and welcoming. Overall satisfaction 7/10, I recommend.
