A lovely place which was very clean located close to beach. The staff an owners were very attentive

The Owner was fantastic, was always asking if I needed any new towels, linens, etc. A fantastic management style. I also appreciated the mosquito net over the bed. May not have needed it but it was great to have.

Free parking. Good wifi. The family is amazing. Breakfast is good. AC/room all good. Location is fab for the beach and food. I would highly recommend here.

I had one of my best stays in Sri Lanka at Sam’s! The host was sooo friendly, attentive and helpful. The rooms were clean, bed comfortable, AC and WiFi worked well, bathrooms were big and water was hot! Absolutely amazing stay for the price, I was worried about everyone saying the street was loud but it wasn’t bad at all when we went to bed around 1030-11pm, everything quieted down. Overall my favorite stay in Sri Lanka, highly recommend staying here

Nice guest house run by a very friendly family. Right by Unawatuna beach but not too noisy. Air con worked well, WiFi was decent (although sluggish at times) and there are loads of good restaurant options nearby.

Easy to find on the main road. Hosts daughter who checked me in and showed me around was very friendly. Although travelling solo, I had booked their largest room with kitchenette and it was great. Spacious, very clean, had a small balcony along one side but you could leave your room and sit on the huge upstairs balcony with comfy chairs too. Bathroom was very clean, hot water on demand and the shower was lovely with good pressure. A fridge in the room together with kettle, coffee percolator and kitchen essentials if you wanted to have something to eat in the room. Bed was large and very comfortable, good AC and ceiling fan. I believe I was the only guest staying during my 3 days. I had breakfast their once which was served on the 1st floor balcony, I had asked for specifics and all was accommodated. The beach is across the road, literally walk about 200m. Bus stop to Galle is 20m away whilst going in the other direction it's about 80m away. The property is about 5 mins walk to the street leading to all the cafes, restaurants etc or even closer if you go via the beach. The wine store is about 500m down the road if you wanted to store up on beer. The family were all extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely stay at Sam's again and would thoroughly recommend to others.

Lovely family run guest house - very clean & comfortable, close to the beach. Everything was perfect, well equipped room with kitchenette. AC was efficient, ceiling fan too, nice bathroom, small balcony. Freshly cooked breakfast which was lovely. Very helpful owners, they do laundry too

Traditional property with fantastic staff which made you feel at home. Nothing too much trouble and filling fresh breakfast which we loved and were always asked if we wanted more/if everything was okay. One of our favourite places we’ve stayed would recommend to anyone and will be returning!

Give you a front room on a busy highway, ask for a quiter room (I was the only guest) extra Rs700. No top sheet, that is an extra, but I did get a load of Scabies, no charge. Truly the worst place of have ever stayed at, why Expecia keep them on their list I don't know.

Easy to find. Lovely guesthouse, nice and clean, good breakfast and ever so friendly owners. I would definitely recommend Sams Place. Only slight downside is it’s a little noisy on the main road, but from our room at the back no problem.

Hotel is a family run hotel with huge rooms and a fantastic bathroom. It is only a few months old and everything was super clean. We really enjoyed the rain head shower as well as the king bed. The hotel is a short 300 rupee ride into the main town so you are out of the noisy downtown area. The owner is so kind and assisted us with a ride as well as providing an umbrella. We had a fantastic stay at Sam’s guest house. The family who owns the house were brilliant hosts. They checked with us in the mornings if we needed anything, offered advice about the area & helped arrange transportation. The wifi is very quick, the room is spacious & the beach is a stones throw away. It is in the main road, so it can be a little noisey during the day but that wasn’t an issue at night. Highly recommend!

Beautiful family, very attentive to all requests and super friendly. We decided to extend our stay for two extra nights here due to location to lovely beach and the area. We felt very secure and comfortable. We had laundry done here at a very reasonable price. The breakfast was amazing for the little price paid, especially the fresh bread. Nice cold water (bottles) available for purchase at a excellent price. Shared refrigerator outside the rooms was nice to keep fruit, snacks and waters cold. Wish we had more time to stay here.

This hotel was within a few minutes walk to the beach, with lots of lovely restaurants close by. It took about ten minutes to walk to the road where there were more restaurants and shops. The place is run by a family who were exceptionally friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Booking this hotel was one of the best decisions we ever made.

Good location,great room ,good breakfsat,only problem is the noise from the road.Take some earplugs !

Good quality service from the family. Rooms are cleaned every two days providing fresh towels. Rooms are also spacious with excellent air con and a fan. Always willing to help. Food reasonably priced. Few minutes walk from the beach. Wifi was sometimes on and off.
