I like that it is a boutique hotel. Not crowded as they have a selected number of rooms. Rooms are clean with patio open up to nature. You can even hear the peacocks in the morning. Bed is very comfortable. Friendly, respectful and kind staff. Beautiful property.

From the moment we walked up, we felt so welcome and comfortable. The manager was incredible at arranging all of our experiences from local temples to the elephant safari and an amazing massage. Food and beverage service is personal and accommodating. We loved the plunge pool at our room, especially after the amazing climb to see Sigiriya Rock! Incredible staff, tranquil property- loved every minute- the peacock even put on a show when we left!

PRO's at Seerock: - large spacious room that was air conditioned and well sealed from insects. - comfortable bed - attentive staff, especially when we had to have an early breakfast. They were kind enough to back our breakfasts so that we could enjoy them before our excursions. - provided bottled water and ginger cookies. Needs improvement: - Menu selection for meals is very limited. Sigiriya is very rural and you have to do research on finding good meals. After each day trip, we were so exhausted that we ended up eating at Seerock all the time - but the menu selection was very average. - Food cleanliness: we soley ate cooked food because my partner had some digestive issues with eating their lettuce (which was on a hamburger bun). - Understanding: We repeatedly asked the waitstaff to not include any fresh vegetables or fruits on our dishes because we had bad luck eating those items in a hotel in Colombo. They eithee ignored our request or didn't understand that this request included all of the garishes and little extras they liked to put on the plate. Their lack of attention made me think that this was an establishment that was not familiar with guests who had food sensitivities and/or digestive issues. - Couldn't use private pool because it was too cold (because it was always shaded). This was frustrating because we paid a significantly higher price for this ammenity. Overall, we see potential in Seerock - but our experience wasn't worth the price we paid.

Hotel was dated and run down. Whilst staff were quite helpful the food was just not up to standard at all, the included breakfast was very disappointing and the first night we had dinner there it was awful. We made sure we went out for all our meals. Would not recommend.

We spent three nights here and had a most relaxing and enjoyable experience. The staff were exceptional and the property well maintained. The beds are comfortable and the pool excellent for an early morning swim. The restaurant caters for all tastes and the traditional curry meal for two is a must.

We stayed one night but wished for more. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable, large, high ceilinged, basically a series of duplex cabins arranged the central reception and dining facility. It's a thoughtfully designed property. The restaurant is open to the air and up on the second floor where it catches the breeze. From the restaurant are nice views of Sigiriya off in the distance. The food was excellent. The chef, who showed an owner's attention to detail, has a lovely manner. Despite lots of water features on the grounds, most planted with lilies, we were not bothered by mosquitos at all--and if they were around we'd know. The staff was friendly and highly responsive any time of day or night. The route we followed to get there from Sigiriya was a crazy bumpy, dirt pot holed road. But it was more than worth it (and it's really not that far). Was everything perfect? no. As others have commented it's new and the plantings have not grown in yet. We found it quite attractive though and as things grow up it will have a more lush and established feel. The hot tub is big, nice for two but the hot water comes from a point of use heater and so it took about 45 minutes to fill the tub--plan ahead. All in all we highly recommend it.

The hot tub in the hotel room was nice but our stay at Seerock was marred by the excessive service charge of more than 30% imposed on us for dinner at the hotel restaurant. The calculation and size of the service charge was not made clear as the handwritten bill was not presented after dinner and only given hastily for payment during check out. I am surprised that a hotel like Seerock would resort to this kind of tactics to overcharge their guests. No other restaurant during our stay in Sri Lanka charged so much just for service charge.
