Scandic Uppsala Nord

Breakfast was awesome! Supper meal average. Room good but placed on first floor. As single traveler did not feel safe to open window. Room very hot even with oscillating fan on high. Beds good. Shower terrific. Parking good.

We stayed in order to catch an early morning ferry. As such, it was great that we could charge our electric car overnight. Also, there has been no issue with the ordered breakfast boxes (we had to leave before breakfast was served). All food intolerances were catered for. The room itself was small and properly cleaned. In addition it was very hot and stuffy. The hotel has no AC in the rooms, thus the only way to cool the room was to open the window. And here things became less ideal. The room was on the ground floor, but the hotel did not offer to open the large window. The small one could be opened, but the mechanism to locked it an semi-open position (to prevent someone from entering from the outside) was broken. In effect we didn't want to keep that window open while asleep. The bed itself was comfortable. Overall the room was functional, one could even hang up clothes. But various items were either damaged (for example the bin in the bathroom) or showed severe signs of wear and tear. We would strongly suggest to refurbish these rooms or at least notice broken stuff and have it replaced. The bathroom was clean and the shower had good pressure. In terms of functionality nothing to complain here.

Wir waren in einem Doppelzimmer mit zusätzlichem Kastenbett für unseren Sohn. Durch dieses Bett war der Raum ziemlich eingeschränkt. Im Badezimmer hat es ziemlich stark nach Schwefel gerochen. Trotz angegeben Wäscheservice wurde unsere Wäsche nicht gewaschen da der Wäschereiangestellte krank sei. Der Billiardtisch war schon ziemlich ramponiert und die Queues Kaputt.Als wir spielen wollten waren sie in Reparatur. Es sind nur 2 Fahrräder zum ausleihen und ziemlich schlecht gepumpt was man zuerst bemängeln musste.die Angestellten waren freundlich. Das positive war die nähe zur IFU Arena und der kostenlose Parkplatz.

The hotel is a bit dated and probably needs some major renovation soon. However overall, our stay was pleasant and in our expectations with Scandic. The room was clean, though smelled a bit dusty. Bathroom is spacious with a really good shower. The beds were pretty comfortable. So we were to refresh ourselves before we had to continue our journey the next day. Unfortunately too early to have breakfast. Instead we had breakfast box waiting for us at checkout. While the location of the hotel is not that convenient in order to explore Uppsala, it is great when passing through with an EV as there are plenty of 11kW Mer electrical car chargers in front of the hotel.

Pleasant stay, friendly and helpful staff. Room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast could have been a little more exciting but there was plenty to choose from.

Incheckningen tog över två timmar eftersom städningen av rummen inte var klar före 18 tiden. Total kaos i receptionen. Hotellet fullbokat men ingen extrapersonal inkallad. Middagen och frukosten i restaurangen mycket bra.

Hotel is a a few kms out of town. Taxis were quite expensive for the distance, but there is a regular bus service very near the hotel. Check-in was fine. Choice at breakfast could have been improved, but generally ok. Would have been nice to have a mini bar and coffee making facilities in the room. But there is a bar in the hotel.

I was very disappointed. I have stayed at many Scandic before and enjoyed their high standards.This Scandic was simply lacking. What I found most disturbing was being ignored by one receptionist for quite a while (the other one was on the phone). When two male guests suddenly appeared she suddenly became available for duty for them even though I had been waiting before them. When I pointed this out I was told that the two men were part of a conference group and this receptionist specialized with conference guests. The other receptionists were fine. The one with the Afro curly hair was particularly friendly and helpful. The room was below average standard (no tea /coffee making facilities, no frig or air conditioning - which I would have expected from a 3.5 Scandic). Also note there is no cleaning unless requested. I have no issues with not having towels changed daily for the sake of the environment but I think cleaning is part of a normal hotel service. I did not like coming back to rubbish bins full from the previous day. Breakfast: The juice tasted cheap from a carton and there are no smoothies or pastries. The scrambled eggs were good as was the fresh pineapple/melon.There is only regular coffee. I asked for a cappuccino and was directed to the receptionist area where it costs to buy a coffee. Last but not least I wanted to rent a bike. Unfortunately they had only one available the one with a horizontal bar style suitable for (tallish)males! So no go for me there.

We had a great 4 day’s stay in Uppsala. We initially thought that the Scandic North was too far out of town but we were proved wrong very quickly. The no 2 bus stops virtually outside the hotel and runs very frequently plus the hotel was very quiet with no street noise. The breakfast was excellent. We would certainly revisit the area and stay again in this hotel. Great staff too!

This hotel had a great restaurant and the food was wonderful. The only downside to this hotel was the fact that the rooms did not have air condition units. And the weather was extremely hot everyday we were there. however, the staff gave us fans for our room and that made a great difference.

Not bad if you have a car, as it's a bit of a walk to town. Great working WiFi. Few choices at the restaurant and expensive buffet option. The room was quite small and very hot (no fan). No mosquito nets on the windows. Clean facilities, and pleasant staff make it okay for a night or two. Good buffet breakfast.

Chose hotel because of its location. It was basic but very comfortable and clean, and the onsite restaurant was good. Only suggestion would be that tea / coffee making facilities be placed in the rooms - currently need to buy it from reception (out of a machine).Staff were all very helful.

Good rooms, good breakfast. The only downside is if you are there at the weekend it's very busy and so needs more available tables and more staff at breakfast time. We have stayed here before and rooms have been upgraded to a good standard since our first stay. Still rather expensive.

Very pleasant stay at good-quality, mid-range hotel about 12-15 minutes walk from Uppsala town centre. While a little far out from downtown, the number #2 bus goes right past the hotel, and can drop you off in the heart of Uppsala. There is a mini-shopping centre about 2-3 minutes walk just north of the hotel. Extremely comfortable beds. Under-tile heating in the bathroom floor was wonderful.
