Yes, the view is outstanding, although there is a renovation project underway along all the the harbor, so the construction blocks some access to the harbour front.

This is a very unique little hotel sitting directly on the main Vaxholm ferry terminal. The building itself is historic (so, naturally, old) and no-frills, but it was clean, well-kept, and charming, and the staff were very friendly and responsive. I enjoyed sitting on my patio and looking out at the boats. The breakfast buffet had everything one could want. It felt very safe, as well.

The hotel was very, very clean and up. Kept for being over 300 years old. I love the building and the surrounding area. Every place in town was easily walkable. Plenty of activities to do water in front for water taxi's. Transportation to surrounding areas very easily accessible and very cheap using water. And buses for transportation.

The hotel was in a great location for us by the Marina, but it was very tired. Our room was a family room on the top floor and it was very basic, quite hostel-like and unloved, but the bed was comfortable. Views from the breakfast room windows were lovely, but the breakfast itself was quite disappointing. Not helped by the fact the staff were tidying up around us, long before the time slot had finished. We probably would use the hotel again, but that would only be out of convenience.

The hotel is fairly nice, and should be a classy, tasteful place - but at nighttime it's very NOISY because the bar on the first floor operates until 0100 (at least...) with very loud rock music played at high volume. For both nights of my stay I had throbbing rock thumping in my room and I could not sleep until 0200. On Sunday morning it was only quiet for 5 HOURS 0200-0700. The staff arrived to set up breakfast and started playing loud music again! Another weird thing: there's a bar on the ground floor that's closed but the same music plays on speakers in the street full blast: it must be hell for the neighbours as well as the guests with rooms above. I do not understand the service ethos of this hotel. It felt like the bar was more important than the hotel guests, and that if you asked them to respect the hotel guests' right to a decent night's sleep they would ignore you. I had a miserable weekend here. Other problems: in a room that cost 3500 SEK/283 UKL/325 EUR per night, you would expect a safe, tea and coffee-making facilities and bottles of water: there were none of these basic amenities. We expected the housekeeping to make up the room at least once on the weekend and they failed to do so (we left the 'Please make up the room' tag on the door, a waste of time). The breakfast was okay. The dining room's kitchen was slow, but produced amazing food and the service was fairly attentive although the wait staff were embarrassed by the slow kitchen.

Great hotel for its location but appears to have seen better days. Tv didn’t work and bed sheets had stains pointed these out on arrival but neither were fully addressed. Reception staff v pleasant. Room was only cleaned once during 5 night stay. Not great value for money but location for ferry and activities excellent.

What a wonderful view of the water. The ferries were right out our hotel door. The hotel was very old but well kept. There were a lot of stairs to get up to our room. I definitely would suggest a balcony.

Hotel sits right off the dock at Vaxholm where the ferrys come in, so very conveniently located.. stunning views for all rooms having little balconies.. hotel rooms and hallways charmingly laid out to look like you're on a ship.. breakfast is wonderful and restaurant on street level has excellent local menu.. great leap off place for day trips via ferrys to islands such as Grinda and Svartso (Vaxholm itself can be accessed by car, is much more built up and is much less rustic than those two islands).

Clean room with a beautiful view of the Archipelago from the balcony. Rooms are small but adequate and there were no hot or cold drinks provided in the room. The bar below was VERY loud for an 80s event in the bar below but was over before we wanted to relax on the balcony in the evening. Overall I would say the price point is a bit high but the hotel’s position makes up for the other shortcomings. Breakfast was excellent.

Very nice hotel right at the harbour. We had booked three rooms. Two of them had harbour view with balcony, one to the back, unfortunately was the window blocked halfway by the wall of a service elevator. The hotel had advertised that it has a sauna and we really looked forward to after three days hike on a trail. When we arrived and checked in we were informed that the sauna was not turned on yet and also was block-booked by the hotels own spa. In other words it wasn't possible for guests to use the sauna at all unless by also booning a spa package. We would really encourage the hotel to look over the sauna / spa reservations. It shouldn't be possible to block reserve a feature that is advertised as one of the hotels ammendities.
