so glad i picked this hotel instead of one that might have given me a great mountain view. it was close enough to the train station that i didn't have to schlep my luggage too far; because from the train station, everything goes uphill. sure it's downhill when you leave but usually that's in the morning when you are fresh and full of energy. arriving in the afternoon has already kept you busy & not looking for an uphill trog.
plus in the early morning you can see the goats walking down the street, & they are too cute to miss.
the reception is in a different hotel called hotel simi, which is just across the plaza which is the only reason i didn't rave about staff. i didn't see any. however the room was clean and comfortable. i arrived on a very hot day after a long list of activities and was disappointed there was no A/C or refrigerator; but towards the evening the room had cooled down enough that sleeping was fine, as long as i kept the patio door open.
the breakfast was stellar, many offerings; otherwise no vending but there is a bar in hotel simi.
everything in zermatt is convenient and this hotel is right in the middle of it all.

A basic hotel in a very convenient location in Zermatt. Tucked away from the main street. Many restaurants nearby. Room is basic of adequate size. Nice balcony , but adjacent to others so limited privacy. Breakfast was good with standard options. Dior at front desk was kind, friendly and accommodating. A credit to the hotel. A great, low cost option in central Zermatt.

This is, basically, a backpacker's hostel or ski hostel. We had a room that slept four; it was clean, the beds were comfortable; there was a small terrace on which to sit. The first day we had breakfast in Hotel Simi, but the remaining two days was in the hotel. It was an alright breakfast. Hotel Simi had scrambled eggs and sausage; our hotel did not. The location was good - away from the main street, so it was quiet. It was a tad expensive for what we got for three nights, but it was probably the cheapest. Zermatt is very, very expensive.

It is an old hotel. It is clean and quiet. It is close to the train and town. The linens were in need of replacement(torn duvet and ratty towels). Because it is in Zermatt, it is over priced. There are nicer hotels nearby. It was my first time here and did not know what to look for. The breakfast was simple and ok. It is a 2 star hotel.

A gentleman from the hotel took our bags to our room and he also helped us the next day when we had trouble with the key. A balcony was off our room, plus breakfast provided. Hotel was just off the main shopping area. Very nice!!

This is a two star hotel, but the quality at which it is kept makes it feel as though it is much, much better! Seriously happy with this hotel, very clean, close to everything (as every hotel in Zermatt is), good water pressure and hot water. Breakfast is good, although if you like bacon/eggs/sausage there isn’t any except some eggs which you have to boil yourself. Other than that there was a wide variety of bread and pretzels, yoghurts, ham, cheese and cereal and some fruit. For the price paid and the prices of other hotels, this is a great choice! The rooms, however, don’t have air con so you rely on cool air coming through.

Nice location in the village. Good-size room with an older-looking bathroom. You have to go to the hotel next door to check-in where they only had one person doing the work for a few of us showing up at the same time. More illogically, they had three people at the desk the next morning for checking out. Good breakfast.

The room was very clean and beds made daily. The bed was comfortable. It was very quiet and we enjoyed our stay. The continental style breakfast was very good, with delicious bread/rolls/pastries. It was self service, which we prefer. We had a big balcony, which was lovely, though not a great view, due to the location, surrounded by other buildings - though in the centre of town. The decor/furniture was a bit dated and could do with being modernised. However, we had a great stay!

Excellent property center of the town and close to the railway station. All shops and pharmaceutical's closeby walking distance. Can see Matterhorn the toblerone chocolate logo beautifully from the church point. The only drawback in the room is the charging outlets. But the receptionist was very helpful in providing universal plugs. Our room was very spacious with a huge balcony. Electric kettle is provided but bring your own tea/coffee.

This hotel is very horrible. When I checked in, I told the clerk at the front desk that I am a 70-year old man and I need a convenient room.
The room assigned to me is on the fourth floor, room number is 40, which is not a regular room. In this room, the ceiling of shower area is very low, and I can’t have a shower and stand strict up, my head hitting the ceiling. … I was hurt …
This room should not be put in the market for servicing guests.
I request that my money should be fully refunded
I will fight for it.
