There are so many things we love about this place! Everything in the house is thoughtfully prepared for guests, creating a truly welcoming stay. The environment is quiet and relaxing, and we really appreciated the open and friendly communication with the host.

We loved this characterful and stylish home in one of Tainan’s typical alleys.
We had a huge room with a large room and plenty of room to hang your clothes.
The bed was large, albeit a little hard for us but this is a very personal thing for people and it will suits others..the shower and bath room were excellent with a decent shower.
The public areas had tables for breakfast or even to eat your own food.
The breakfast was local and a great experience.
The owner was the ultimate professional, and seemed have thought of everything

Chez Poky is the BEST B&B in Tainan. It exceeds 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. It's well designed, beautifully decorated, and the host, Poky Hsu is friendly, helpful and gave us the VIP treatment, as I'm sure he does with all his guest. His guidance and recommendations for Tainan are spot on! The Taiwanese breakfasts served were delicious with beverage and fruit. The amenities were plentiful, including thick plush cotton towel, complimentary snacks and beverages. Poky recommended a specialty dessert place called Katsura, which we would have never tried without him telling us
Thank you Poky for a most memorable time in Tainan.
Rating: 10 and highly highly recommend this place. You can't go wrong!

From the location on a small quiet street, to the extremely well-appointed, large, comfortable and quiet room in a beautifully designed home, to the breakfast offerings that changed daily, to Poky's warm & welcoming professionalism our stay was fantastic. Poky was always there to help when we needed it, especially for foodie dining recommendations and equally there just to chat when we were on our way out or in after a full day in Tainan. I thought Chez Poky was exquisite. We had a nice quiet and amazing visit there. Our room was beautiful and the amenities were excellent. The host made us feel like we’re at home. And of course I couldn’t end without mentioning that they have a delicious breakfast menu. I hope to be back soon!

Mr. Poky makes you feel welcome at his well decorated and comfortable home which is situated within walking distance of many attractions. He is also fluent in English and can point you to places to visit, present local delicacies at the breakfast table, and call taxi services for you. I can’t recommend this bed and breakfast enough!
To start the room we booked was large, clean and comfortable.
The breakfast provided is selected from local places in Tainan, and you get to try the amazing local cuisines.
There’s also a great movie collection you can choose from downstairs, and it was a great way for us to unwind after a long day of exploring Tainan.
There is so much more to say about how amazing the host, and the space is, but I’d just say to book it and experience for yourself if there is availability.

We had a delightful stay at Chez Poky. It is clear that each detail, from the decor, to the tableware, to the toiletries and in-room snacks was chosen with great care and thought. There were so many beautiful things to look at, and an incredible selection of films you can borrow to watch in your room. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was also very enjoyable - each morning, we were treated to a local Tainanese dish, with a helpful explanation of its history and significance. Poky, the proprietor, was also incredibly helpful and polite, and he is clearly a foodie with the food offerings and local food recommendations. I cannot say enough good things about this boutique hotel! I hope to be able to stay here again.

Our host also provided a great many tips on places to see and eat.
Our room was modern and comfortable. It was quiet for sleeping. Breakfast was gathered from famous local restaurants and was elegantly served. We enjoyed our three nights here and look forward to coming back again.

The property was very clean, owner was welcoming, breakfast was delicious, and the service was exceptional. The interior design was especially unique, and the lobby contained many old books and dvds that were all free to borrow during your stay. The entire stay was very memorable, would definitely stay there again when we visit Tainan.

The place was tastefully decorated. Rooms are clean and spacious. Tainan's local delicacies are served for breakfast along with fruits and drinks, we had coffee both days and it was of good quality.
Owner is knowledgeable about tainan, provided parking advice in advance and offered us a map.
