Air con not working very well. Ceiling height in bathroom was too short for someone over 5 foot 7. Staff very grumpy and not helpful when the laundry facilities were not working. I’m the room, we found a pair of old underwear and hair in the bathroom.

The location is ok, but the hotel itself feels unsafe, as the lobby is in the 8th floor, and the rooms are in other floors. The lift entrance is open to the street, unmanned, and anyone can easily access the room floors. The carpets have a dark pattern and are old. The impression is not of cleanliness. Overall the ceilings are very low. But in the bathroom, as the floor is raised, the ceiling is VERY low. The furniture is old and scratched. However the mattress are comfortable, if only a bit hard. The corridors smell musky.

There are many better places to stay in Tainan. I wanted something close to the train station, but I left after the first night. I was supposed to stay there 3. It's difficult to find. Reception is on the 8th floor, random. Wall paper was peeling. I heard someone sneeze in another room while I was in my room with the door closed. There were holes the towels. My friend said there was a sign in Chinese saying that police check the property because drugs were used there, which is really uncommon for Taiwan. The bathroom was clean, but that's about all I can say for it.

The location is good if MRT and bus are available (unfortunately the MRT and bus were not in service on the day when we arrived because of Kangrui typhoon so we had to take taxi from HRT station), the staffs are very helpful. We walked outside for most of the daytime and just used the hotel for sleeping. It is worth of the value. By the way, the hotel provides washer and dryer for free even though the dryer took about 3 hours to dry a small load of the clothes.

It’s a good budget hotel. At the price point you’re paying for nothing fancy but the rooms at nice and large. They also provide free use of a washing machine and dryer along with a water station. The location is good to walk to local temples, however, it’s about a 20 minute walk to the train station. The hotel needs a renovation and a very deep clean. I would stay again for the price point and location.
