Palmer Hotel

Rude staff. Breakfast ok but an absolute rugby scrum to get any food. Area location is rough, lots of homeless and very dirty. Not recommended.

Good location very close Taichung station only 5mins walk. Hotel are clean and staff are very nice.

Lots of good dining options esp the Miyahara Eye Cream n the Pig Trotters. Lots of convenient stores n eateries besides above 2 mentioned. Very conveniently located within few minutes walk to TMS. Will book again.

Although the reviews were bad, it wasn’t the worst. Definitely worth the price. The park a couple blocks away was so beautiful, the fish, ducks and ability to row a boat on the water was so nice. The hotel it’s is a bit strange, the staff are not very friendly, they we’re constantly calling my room for different reasons, the rooms very humid, you CANT flush your toilet tissue (which is nasty) who wants to walk into the rest and see pooped toilet paper, they have you sign a waiver for cost of blankets if you spill something on them, and they will charge you for any toiletries if you forget them but give them to locals for free. The breakfast was worth the price, but was WAY too early! Who wants to wake up at 6-9:00 on vacation and the type of food was blah! A review I read was correct they don’t offer separate utensils for the butter or jam so everyone is touching it. On a plus there are no roaches and a 17 minute walk to a BIG night market with great food. If on a budget this is a good deal but nothing to write home about.

Very nice experience and we keep coming back to stay here. Location is so convenient! Breakfast buffet is yummy and they changed the dishes every day and also vegetarian friendly. Our room size was niceand the sound proof was good too. Highly recommended.

When i check in at night the staffs are friendly and helpful. He give me a time table for the bus schedules to sun moon lake. In the morning when i check out the day staff didn't even had eye contact with me. I asked for one more bus time table. She told me we don't have. I told her that i got one yesterday. She keep repeating we don't have but not even look for it. Customer service is important so people want to return.

This is a nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Rooms are good nothing fancy. Location is convenient but one area did not seem to safe behind hotel and park. Otherwise it was fair for the price.

Cozy hotel

Room is new, wooden floor, big enough to fit 2 big luggages. Shower water pressure and temperature is good, bed and pillow super comfy, duvet thick and warm. Aircon is cold, room is quiet, allows secure luggage storage with tag pre and post check out, nice local breakfast shop and a taiyang bing shop just downstairs. Walkable to taichung TRA in 5-8min. If u take Ubus from taipei airport, it just takes 2 hours to reach and 8-10min walk from drop off to hotel (ask bus counter for exact drop off stop). Most importantly, there’s a Kuo Kuang bus terminal 1min walk from hotel where u can take the bus to taipei (cheaper and more convenient than HSR), and also a bus shop just next to hotel to take bus to Feng Chia. For this price and location in taichung, Palmer is the best u can find!

The triple room was big but basic. The aircon was weak so on our stay which was 35 degrees outside it was unbearable. The laundry room charged for detergent, washing and drying and closes promptly at 9pm - very inconvenient for people on holiday.

This is the 2nd booking continue to the 7 days stay without breakfast. Palmer room cleaning is perfect. The check in and out is smooth and quick.

We had to store our luggage near the door in the rather small lobby, but that and the room were very clean. We stayed in the nicely decorated and very spacious family room with 3 double beds. The breakfast was good, but the food was not kept hot. The hotel very kindly contacted us regarding a few items we left behind on purpose and a few that we may have overlooked.

Great location and staff, very clean, will come again!

Front desk staff were smiley, helpful and know the stuff in giving tips and guide on how to get around in Taichung and how to get to Tainan. I highly recommend Palmer Hotel and commend the front desk staff for excellent service.
