Location: great, nearby BTS Saladaeng and MRT Silom. Just an 8-minute walk to Central Park Mall. Lots of street food, izakayas, fast food, and food hopping in the neighborhood. Room: immaculately clean with Japanese style. Have pajamas for free to use. This accommodation is a great choice for travelers at a reasonable rate. Would definitely be staying here again in the future! And, oh yeah, there's a coin laundry machine and a personal washing machine inside the deluxe room type.

Had my first stay here in early February 2026! The location is highly recommended—it’s just a few steps away from the Chong Nonsi BTS station. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby to fit any budget, and a 7-Eleven right there for some snacks. A special shout-out to a male staff member who speaks Malay (I forgot his name, unfortunately!); he was incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived until we checked out.

The location of the hotel is perfect for everything, e.g. transportation, food, availability of convenient store and chilling. If you are to grab for coffee or food ... no problem! There are selections of franchises (Starbucks, KFC, etc) nearby. If you are hungry for tasty and affordable local food, "Mama Mia" and "Cheaper & Better" are available within 5-7 minutes walk. We love the choices of pillows given in the room, either 'soft' type or 'firm' type. This provides a heavenly sleep throughout the night. The gym facilities are basic for good sweat out and to burn the fats over the holidays. :) Keep it up! We are looking forward to come again soon. Thank you for the awesome experience!!

The hotel is very wonderful. The hotel is right next to a small mall and a local market with good food. Going out a bit is at the foot of the Chong Nonsi bts train for easy access. Is an ideal location. Big room, clean toilet. Quality service attentive, dedicated. Always add 2-3 bottles of mineral water per day. However, the air conditioner in room 2308 was a bit noisy, 26 degrees but very cold like 18. But in summary very good experience with reasonable price, I will come back on next occasions ❤️

The hotel's location is very quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of areas usually visited by tourists. Although the location is in the Silom area, it is still easy to get to recreational and shopping locations such as Pratunam. This hotel has a playroom for children and a unique slide, so the children really like it. Oh yes, almost forgot the Japanese-style set meal is very delicious, especially the unagi set, which is highly recommended, but it is not part of breakfast 😁👍

More about hotels in Silom

Silom: Bangkok's Dynamic Heartbeat for the Global Explorer

Silom, a district that pulses with the energy of Bangkok, offers an unparalleled blend of commercial dynamism and vibrant cultural experiences, making it a compelling destination for international travellers. Unlike the more serene temples or beach resorts found elsewhere in Thailand, Silom presents a sophisticated urban landscape where business acumen meets a lively nightlife and a diverse culinary scene. It’s a place where you can conduct high-level meetings in the morning and explore bustling night markets by evening, offering a multifaceted glimpse into modern Thai life. This district is a nexus of activity, drawing in visitors who seek both the efficiency of a global business hub and the authentic charm of Bangkok's street-level culture.

The district's character is not monolithic; Silom itself is a tapestry of distinct zones, each offering a unique flavour and atmosphere. From the high-rise office buildings and upscale shopping centres that define its commercial core to the more intimate soi (alleys) that hide traditional eateries and entertainment venues, Silom provides a varied experience within its boundaries. This internal diversity means that where you choose to base yourself can significantly shape your entire trip. Whether you prefer the convenience of being near major transport links or the allure of a neighbourhood known for its specific nightlife or culinary offerings, Silom caters to a wide spectrum of preferences, ensuring every visitor can find their niche.

For international travellers, Silom presents itself as a remarkably accessible and value-driven destination. With an average starting price of around ₱ 343.23 per night and an impressive overall review score of 8.4 from over 48,000 reviews, it offers a compelling proposition. This indicates a high level of satisfaction among a vast number of visitors, suggesting that the quality of accommodation and services generally exceeds expectations for the price point. For travellers from the United States, Europe, and India, Silom provides an opportunity to experience a world-class city without the prohibitive costs often associated with major global capitals, making it an attractive option for both short stays and extended explorations.

The accommodation landscape in Silom is as varied as the district itself, featuring everything from internationally recognized hotel brands to more localized establishments. For instance, the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G offers a sophisticated urban retreat with its modern amenities and stylish design, reflecting the district's contemporary appeal. On the other hand, the Furama Silom Bangkok provides a comfortable and well-located option, catering to travellers who value convenience and a solid range of facilities. These examples highlight the spectrum of choices available, allowing visitors to book hotel accommodations that align with their specific needs and budget, whether they are seeking luxury or more economical options.

Silom is a destination that speaks to a broad range of international travellers. For those from the United States, its blend of modern amenities, vibrant nightlife, and accessible shopping makes it an exciting urban adventure. European travellers might be drawn to its cultural nuances, the proximity to historical sites, and the sophisticated dining experiences it offers. Indian travellers often find Silom particularly appealing due to its excellent connectivity, diverse culinary options that can cater to various palates, and the competitive pricing that allows for a more extensive exploration of Bangkok. Travellers from Africa, while perhaps less directly connected, can find Silom a gateway to Southeast Asia, offering a taste of a dynamic, modern Asian metropolis with a welcoming atmosphere.

Best Areas to Stay in Silom

Silom is a district that offers a dynamic urban experience, and choosing the right neighbourhood within it can significantly enhance your visit. Each area possesses its own distinct character, from the bustling commercial heart to quieter, more residential pockets, influencing everything from your daily commute to your evening entertainment. Understanding these nuances is key for international visitors looking to find a base that perfectly complements their travel style and interests in Bangkok.

Silom's Commercial Core

This is the beating heart of Silom, characterized by towering skyscrapers, multinational corporations, and a constant hum of business activity. For international travellers, this area offers unparalleled convenience, with direct access to major transportation networks and a plethora of dining and shopping options catering to a global clientele. It’s an ideal base for business travellers or those who appreciate being in the centre of the action, with easy access to both work and leisure. The energy here is palpable, reflecting Bangkok's status as a major economic hub in Southeast Asia.

From this central vantage point, you are perfectly positioned to explore the city's attractions. The area is well-served by the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway, making it simple to reach other parts of Bangkok. Nearby, you can find a wide array of international and local restaurants, from high-end dining to casual eateries. For those looking to experience the district's famous nightlife, the proximity to areas like Patpong Night Market is a significant advantage. Visitors can easily book attractions and tours that depart from central locations, ensuring a seamless travel experience. Use Traveloka to book your hotel — book hotel.

The Patpong and Thaniya Area

This part of Silom is synonymous with its vibrant nightlife and bustling markets, most notably the iconic Patpong Night Market and the adjacent Thaniya Plaza. For international visitors, this area offers an exciting and sometimes intense sensory experience, filled with neon lights, street vendors, and a lively atmosphere. It’s a magnet for tourists seeking entertainment, shopping for souvenirs, and experiencing Bangkok's renowned nightlife. The energy here is infectious, providing a stark contrast to the district's daytime business persona.

Staying in this vicinity means you are at the epicentre of Bangkok's entertainment scene. Patpong Night Market is famous for its bargaining opportunities, offering everything from counterfeit goods to local handicrafts. Thaniya Plaza provides a slightly more organized shopping experience. For travellers who want to be close to the action and enjoy the thrill of a bustling night market, this is the place to be. It’s also a convenient spot for accessing various bars, clubs, and entertainment venues that cater to a diverse international crowd. Use Traveloka to book attractions — book attractions.

The Surawong Road Enclave

Surawong Road, running parallel to Silom Road, offers a slightly more relaxed yet equally convenient base within the Silom district. This area is known for its mix of residential buildings, boutique hotels, and a good selection of restaurants and bars that cater to both locals and expatriates. It provides a slightly more laid-back vibe compared to the immediate hustle of Silom's main thoroughfare, while still offering excellent connectivity and access to the district's amenities. It’s a good choice for travellers seeking a balance between urban convenience and a more tranquil atmosphere.

This enclave is well-connected by public transport, with easy access to the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway systems, facilitating exploration of the wider Bangkok area. Surawong Road itself is lined with diverse dining options, from traditional Thai eateries to international cuisine. It’s also a convenient location for those who want to be within walking distance of key Silom attractions while enjoying a slightly less crowded environment. The area’s accessibility makes it easy to plan day trips or explore nearby cultural landmarks.

The Riverside Proximity (Bang Rak)

While technically part of the broader Bang Rak district, the areas bordering the Chao Phraya River offer a distinct appeal for visitors to Silom. This locale provides a unique perspective, blending the urban energy of Silom with the scenic beauty and historical significance of the riverfront. It’s an excellent choice for travellers who want to experience Bangkok's iconic waterways, enjoy riverside dining, and have easy access to ferry services that connect to major cultural sites like the Grand Palace and Wat Arun.

Staying near the river offers a different pace, with opportunities for sunset cruises and exploring charming riverside communities. The area is also home to some of Bangkok's most historic hotels and a growing number of contemporary establishments. Its proximity to Silom means you can easily access the business and entertainment hubs, while also enjoying the tranquility and picturesque views of the Chao Phraya. This blend makes it attractive for travellers seeking a comprehensive Bangkok experience.

Silom's Culinary Delights: A Feast for Every Palate

Silom is a vibrant culinary microcosm within Bangkok, offering a diverse gastronomic landscape that mirrors the district's cosmopolitan character. From the aromatic street food stalls that line its bustling sois to the sophisticated dining rooms of its upscale establishments, Silom presents a compelling array of flavours and experiences for every international visitor. This district is a reflection of Thailand's rich culinary heritage, infused with global influences, making it a must-explore destination for food enthusiasts eager to sample authentic Thai cuisine and international fare.

The district's food scene is particularly renowned for its accessibility and variety. You can find everything from classic Pad Thai and spicy Som Tum at humble street-side vendors to exquisite seafood and international gourmet dishes in chic restaurants. Areas around Patpong Night Market and Thaniya Plaza are particularly lively, offering a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and smells from countless food stalls. For Muslim travellers, Silom offers a growing number of Halal-certified eateries and restaurants that clearly indicate their offerings, ensuring a comfortable dining experience without compromising on taste or authenticity.

For international travellers, Silom offers exceptional value across its dining spectrum. Street food meals can be enjoyed for as little as ₱ 50-100 (approximately $1-2 USD), providing an incredibly affordable way to sample local delicacies. Mid-range restaurants typically range from ₱ 300-800 ($6-16 USD) per person for a full meal, offering a comfortable dining experience with a wider selection of dishes. Upscale dining can range from ₱ 1,500 ($30 USD) upwards, providing a fine-dining experience that is still competitive compared to major Western cities, making Silom a culinary destination that caters to all budgets.

Navigating dining in Silom is a delightful experience, but a few practical tips can enhance it. Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated for excellent service, with a small amount (around 10% or a few baht) being customary. Many restaurants operate on a first-come, first-served basis, though reservations are recommended for popular establishments, especially during peak hours. Embrace the local custom of sharing dishes, which allows you to sample a wider variety of flavours. Familiarizing yourself with basic Thai phrases for ordering can also be a rewarding experience, often met with warm smiles.

Cultural Norms and Staying Safe in Silom

Silom, while a modern and international district, retains many of the cultural nuances that are characteristic of Thailand. Understanding and respecting local customs will greatly enhance your experience and ensure smooth interactions. For instance, the Thai concept of "saving face" is important; avoid public displays of anger or confrontation. Always show respect to elders and those in positions of authority. When visiting temples or religious sites, dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees. The head is considered sacred, so avoid touching anyone's head, and feet are considered the lowest part of the body, so never point them at people or religious icons.

When exploring popular tourist spots like Patpong Night Market and Thaniya Plaza, it's important to be aware of the local environment. While bargaining is expected at markets, do so politely and with a smile. Be mindful of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas, and keep your valuables secure. Photography may not always be permitted, particularly in certain entertainment venues, so it's wise to ask before taking pictures. Regarding dress codes, while Silom is generally more relaxed than some other parts of Bangkok, dressing respectfully, especially in the evenings, can lead to better interactions and access to certain establishments.

Safety in Silom is generally high, but like any major urban centre, it requires a degree of awareness. Keep your passport and important documents in a secure place, perhaps a hotel safe, and carry a photocopy. For transportation, use reputable metered taxis or ride-hailing apps like Grab, which is widely used and reliable in Bangkok. Always ensure the taxi meter is on or agree on a fare beforehand for tuk-tuks. Be cautious of unsolicited offers for tours or services, particularly around tourist hotspots, as some may be scams. Staying informed about your surroundings and trusting your instincts are key to a safe and enjoyable visit.

For Filipino travellers, it's always prudent to be prepared for emergencies. The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok is located at 76 Soi Tanee, Ruamrudee, Ploenchit, Bangkok 10330. It's advisable to have their contact number handy. In case of medical emergencies, dial 1669 for an ambulance. Travel insurance is highly recommended to cover any unforeseen medical expenses or travel disruptions. While Thailand is generally safe, being aware of local emergency numbers and having contact information for your country's embassy ensures you have support if needed.

Navigating Silom: Your Essential Travel Guide

Reaching Silom from the Philippines is a straightforward journey, with numerous flight options available from major hubs like Manila (MNL), Cebu (CEB), and Clark (CRK). While direct flights to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) are common, some may involve a layover in cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, or Hong Kong. Flight durations typically range from 3 to 5 hours for direct flights, with connecting flights taking longer.

The cost of flights can vary significantly based on the season and booking time, but budget-conscious travellers can often find round-trip tickets for around ₱ 8,000 to ₱ 15,000. Upon arrival at BKK, Silom is approximately a 45-minute to 1-hour drive away, with options including the Airport Rail Link to connect to the BTS Skytrain, taxis, or pre-booked transfers. It's always a good idea to book flight tickets in advance to secure the best prices.

Getting around Silom and the wider Bangkok metropolitan area is remarkably efficient and affordable, thanks to an integrated public transportation system. The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway are the most convenient ways to navigate the city, with Silom having its own BTS station and nearby MRT access. These systems are clean, air-conditioned, and connect to most major tourist attractions and commercial districts. For shorter distances or a more local experience, tuk-tuks and metered taxis are readily available, though it's advisable to negotiate fares for tuk-tuks or insist on the meter for taxis. The Chao Phraya River express boats also offer a scenic and practical way to reach riverside attractions.

The best time to visit Silom, and Bangkok in general, is during the cool and dry season, which typically runs from November to February. During these months, temperatures are more moderate, and humidity is lower, making it ideal for exploring the city on foot and enjoying outdoor activities. This period often coincides with peak tourist season, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher hotel prices. The hot season runs from March to May, with temperatures soaring, while the rainy season from June to October brings frequent, though often short-lived, downpours. For budget travellers, the shoulder seasons or the rainy season might offer more affordable accommodation and fewer crowds. Use Traveloka to find the best flights — book flight.

Before embarking on your trip to Silom, a few pre-departure preparations will ensure a smooth experience. The local currency is the Thai Baht (THB). While major credit cards are accepted in hotels and larger establishments, it's essential to have some cash for street food, local markets, and smaller vendors. You can exchange currency at the airport or in the city. Purchasing a local SIM card at the airport upon arrival is highly recommended for affordable data and local calls. Essential apps to download include Google Maps for navigation, a translation app, and ride-hailing apps like Grab. Ensure your passport has at least six months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Thailand.

Visa Information for Entering Thailand to Visit Silom

For Philippine passport holders planning a trip to Silom, Thailand offers a visa-free entry policy for tourism purposes. This means that Filipino citizens can enter Thailand for a specified period without the need to apply for a visa in advance. Typically, this visa exemption allows for a stay of up to 30 days when entering by air, and sometimes a slightly shorter period if entering by land. It is crucial to confirm the exact duration of stay permitted at the time of travel, as regulations can be subject to change by Thai immigration authorities.

When entering Thailand under the visa exemption, travellers are generally required to present a passport with at least six months of validity beyond their intended stay. Additionally, immigration officials may ask for proof of onward travel, such as a return or onward flight ticket, and evidence of sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay in Silom and Thailand. While no specific visa fee is applicable for this exemption, ensure your passport is in good condition and meets all requirements to avoid any issues at immigration.

It is always recommended for travellers to verify the latest visa regulations and entry requirements directly with the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in the Philippines, or through the official website of the Thai Immigration Bureau, before making any travel arrangements. Policies can be updated without prior notice. Confirming your eligibility and the most current entry conditions will help ensure a hassle-free journey to Silom and a pleasant experience in Thailand.
