You can hardly live closer to a beautiful beach than in Golden Bay Cottages. Beautiful and convenient location, just near a 2, maybe even 3 km beach where you can walk, run, swim, drink, eat and whatever else you want to do in your time for beach relaxation. About 400 m from the hotel is the main road of the island, where you'll find lots of shops, restaurants, massage studios, exchange shops, etc. The cottages are quite convenient, new, well maintained and a pleasure to live in. My only concern was the rather hard bed - but that's a matter of taste after all. Breakfast is not something to remember forever, but it's quite decent - especially as a free add-on to a nice low season price. Wifi is OK, even though sometimes it's quite slow - but I guess this is a matter of the island infrastructure. It's always a good idea to have a Thai SIM with lots of internet in it - at least for backup, or when you need faster speeds. And my only complaint for the whole stay, was from the first 5 minutes, then they tried to give me a deluxe bungalow instead of the twice more expensive sea view villa that I had booked. Fortunately, while still searching in my phone for the proof that this is not what I ordered, they knocked on my window and told me my villa would be ready in 10 minutes. Which doesn't mean that if I didn't argue, I wouldn't be left in the cheaper room, just paying double for that.

I've been traveling around Thailand for about 3 weeks and staying in similar and slightly cheaper places around 600 baht to my surprise they had a free breakfast buffet which sounded nice to me it was nice but was a set breakfast. This wasn't a big deal and totally fine ( wish they would of let me use my breakfast voucher at 11 after the 7-10 times but I also understood. The first room I got had no wifi and I got another room no big deal. The second room had no hot water and by far the annoying construction work like two feet from my bed going on all day (I went out on an scooter all day so it was not a big deal) and then waking me up 9. I would love to say they did a great job resolving this issue to my happy delight a couple of the nice younger workers were try to help and they recommend since the rooms they had tried to move us to were either a construction zone or didn't have wifi and already irritated with the noise of the jack hammers waking us up thought they should up grade us to a area that would met the relaxing atmosphere and the amenities they said they would provide. As they then ask led I could assume was there supervisor the only older lady working their who said no.which was fine I didn't expect that but would of been a nice treat after the ride awaking on the end of my vacation. The lady refused to give any discount for the unconvince and sent us on our way to another new room. I owner would teach better consumer service to the older lady. It's been annoying
