great hotel, walking distance from the old city, although not so easy to find on the way home in the dark so take a card with you for a cheap tuk tuk. Room was lovely. Staff were really friendly. the breakfast was included and was simple but good, eggs cooked anyway you liked with the usual toast cereal and fruit. It is hot in Chaing Mai and a pool is a must for at least some of the day. There were a few families there but the vibe was peaceful and friendly. The hotel helped with sorting out trips for us and nothing was too much trouble. I would stay there again.

When we arrived and found that my friend and I would have just one full size bed which was too small, we asked for 2 beds. the one they had available was on the 1st floor in a noisy area. But they had one very large room with 3 beds and they gave it to us for the same price. It saved our vacation! The location is central to everything and the pool is kept very clean and refreshing. Great value for the price.

Wonderful 8 day stay. Any problems were promptly sorted by the lovely staff, clean and well kept. Brilliant location ~ we stated in 4 different locations in chiang mai and thus was absolutely the best. Quiet and peaceful but easy reach of old town tapae gate night bazaar etc. Lovely pool, plenty pool towels lots of sunbeds and tables to sit at and relax. Nice atmosphere, great massages at the massage school next door. Lots of nice cafes and restaurants around. I thoroughly recommend this place.

Staff was lovely and very helpful on all our requests (we had a few as we were traveling with a young baby). The hotel is very cute and the pool very nice. The only thing that could be better is that the rooms/furniture are quite old and the big room for improvement on breakfast.

Staff are friendly and helpful! Room is clean and comfortable in general. The cheerful wowan frying eggs for us for breakfast every morning also made our stay memorable! Only two things to watch out: 1, hot water may not be hot enough. 2. If you are on the ground floor, mosquitos may fly into your room when housekeeper is tidying up the room.

Karinthip is a garden of tranquility in Avery busy but convenient location near Old city with many convenient shops etc nearby by your personal needs such as laundry, bookstore, pharmacy etc. rooms are a bit dated but quite serviceable. Price was right and a very good value. However breakfast food was not much and wifi was intermittent at best.

The property needs an overhaul, its old and the rooms need to be redone. The bed was old and uncomfortable and had the body dips in it left and right . We stayed on the ground floor, there were a lot of mosquitos getting into the room especially in the bathroom. The walls were super thin so you could hear everything going on with the neighbours, talking snoring the works!

We travel to Thailand every year and stay in various resorts over 2 months, this hotel is by far the worst hotel we have stayed at, we try to aim at $60 a night, which in Thailand should get you a decent clean hotel, it's hard to describe how bad our stay was at this hotel, in fact we checked out of the hotel 7 days early and lost half the money we had paid, the staff were completely hapless and spoke no English, the place was swarming with mosquitos, cleaning staff walked in on us in our room twice and the two other days of our stay the room was not cleaned at all, even though we'd left our key at reception, door hanger with make up room on it, they just didn't seem to care. This hotel seems to be run purely for the benefit of the staff, the breakfast was awful, with two young guys managing it inbetween looking at their phones, the food was awful. We would never ever have booked this hotel if we had looked at Trivago, we only noticed after we'd checked in that the reviews on hotels.com were 2 years old, on Trivago the hotel has a brown face, meaning bad, I could go on and on, but save yourself a lot of trouble and book elsewhere. The only good thing was the pool, although that was like everything else in the hotel was dated and very tired, the shower is a run off the tap type, which only sparays the lower part of your body, and then every 30 seconds it would run cold, then back to too hot again, really very unpleasant. This hotel needs a total re-furbishment.

My family stayed at Karinthip Village Hotel from 31 Dec 2016 - 2 Jan 2017 (2 nights). The hotel is hidden inside a small lane off Chang Moi Road and it is a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. It is near to the Thapae Gate (about 5 minutes walk), which is the most popular area in Chiang Mai and the start of the night market. Service was so-so, more functional than warm, but the property is good-looking with lush greenery and my room was handsome with a spacious bathroom that is easy on the eyes.
