The most special thing about the Kathalee is its position. Without doubt the best beach on the island. A little paradise away from all the long tail boats. They offer free snorkelling gear and kayaks which is great. They also provide a free shuttle service to walking street between 6:30 to 7:30 pm each night. We then got a motorcycle cab back which cost 50 baht per person which is great fun if a little hairy !!! The views are lovely from the room (we had deluxe sea view) and it provides everything you need (A/C, shower and nice bed). The rooms are practical not luxurious but great for what you need on a Thai beach holiday. Staff are all lovely and breakfast was good - fresh fruit, yogurt, toast and jam etc with freshly cooked omelettes/eggs. All the staff were lovely. Koh Lipe is truly a special place and the Kathalee is a great place to spend your holiday

Nice service. There seemed to be plumbing issues but they were sorted out. TV only had Thai channels. Got a couple relaxing massages on the beach

Great location, provides snorkelling equipment and kayaks free of charge, only got tea and coffee facilities twice in our 7 night stay, internet very poor every day, breakfast very limited, orange juice and milk not in cold containers, hot food not in hot containers.

For family with children, note that the water current just beyond the rocks are very strong, especially around afternoon. I was holding on to the life ropes for my life, fear of being swept away. Beach full of long tail boats, difficult to swim.

Don’t expect anything glamorous but it’s perfectly acceptable room wise and who cares when it’s such a fantastic place , the owners a nice guy and helpful , breckfast is good , the sea is clear and full of fish .. loved it … only complaint is the sand is so fine and white it gets everywhere !

Beautiful property, wonderful views and amazing staff. Every one was kind and helpful. Breakfast had lots of choices with the selections changing daily. Our favorites were the fruit and traditional Thai food. Can't wait until my next visit!

Hotel is located in a beautiful and private location. Rooms were large and spacious and bed was very comfortable. We were a bit disappointed in the limited breakfast options and found it to be lacking considering the higher price point we were paying but overall the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay.

This hotel is over rated and not worth the price you pay for it at all. For starters the bed is really hard and pillows are as hard as stones ... you can’t even lay your head on it. The bathroom is so basic and do not expect anything from the toiletries. The breakfast served was horrible and coffee you will have to make your own. Breakfast choice is very limited only eggs and white bread.... the most pathetic hotel ever!!! The guy who runs the hotel is a very rude guy, absolutely no hospitality at all. My worst hotel experience ever.

There were big cockroaches and bugs in the room when we check in so we rated on the Expedia. Moments later, the owner or manager was so angry and he came to our room to ask us why we gave him a low rating. And he complained back to us that it was because the door was open that is why insects came in. Under normal circumstance, hotel staff/ manager/ owner should not be angry to customers. Also, it does not matter if the door is open or not, cockroaches should never appear in the hotel.

It was great. Those staffs were great. They really took good care of us. The price was included the breakfast. My husband can't eat some type of foods and they fixed something else for us.
