Very peaceful and relaxing settled in a beautiful tropical garden few steps away from a pristine beach with views over the magical Phang nga bay scenery. The definition of luxury is different from what you might expect . Luxury is the peace that surrounds you, the design and architecture , attention to details and the location. The staff and the owners are very welcoming and helpful whatever you may need. Loved that resort

We had a wonderful stay at the Koyao Bay Pavilions. James and his team gave us a wonderful welcome and tour of the site and got us pointed to some local spots for food and scooter rental that all worked out great. If anything, we wish we would’ve stayed longer at the Pavilions as it was so nice and secluded from the rest of the normal tourist spots in Phuket and Krabi. If you’re looking to unplug, relax and get away from things this is the perfect spot!

How to Get to Koyao Bay Pavilions from the Airport

Getting to Koyao Bay Pavilions is an adventure in itself, offering scenic views along the way. Here are the best ways to reach the resort from Phuket International Airport (HKT):

  • Hotel Private Airport Transfer: The most convenient option. The resort can arrange a private car from Phuket Airport to the pier, followed by a private speedboat or longtail boat transfer directly to Koyao Bay Pavilions. This service ensures a seamless journey. Estimated cost: PHP 3,000 - PHP 5,000, depending on the boat type and number of passengers. You can book this through the airport transfer services or directly with the hotel.
  • Taxi/Ride-Hailing Service to Pier + Public Boat: Take a taxi or a ride-hailing service from Phuket Airport to Ao Po Grand Marina or Bang Rong Pier (approximately 45-60 minutes, PHP 800 - PHP 1,200). From there, take a public speedboat or longtail boat to Koh Yao Noi (approximately 30-45 minutes, PHP 200 - PHP 400 per person). This is a more budget-friendly option.
  • Shuttle Bus to Phuket Town + Bus to Pier + Boat: This is the most economical but time-consuming option. Take a shuttle bus from the airport to Phuket Town, then a local bus to Tha Len Pier, and finally a public boat to Koh Yao Noi. This option requires multiple transfers and is best suited for travelers with ample time and a desire for local immersion.

For a stress-free arrival, consider booking the Koyao Bay Pavilions airport transfer service in advance.

Only one complaint but it was a big one - the lack of air conditioning was a real problem when we visited during the warm season in April. It was simply too hot to be comfortable. I'm sure during more temperate times of year this would be a lovely place to visit. Staff and service are excellent. We enjoyed the open air restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. The villas are spacious with shielded outdoor showers. It required a three-stage trip from the Phuket airport to reach the hotel, but it was arranged by the hotel at our request and all went smoothly.

The location is a 45 minute boat ride from crazy Phuket (or Krabi) and once you arrive you have officially left the bustle of the world. We entered deep relaxation here while hanging out in the private "relaxation hut." James, the host, made our stay personalized and exceptional. For example, one day we expressed interest in kayaking to a small isolated island one mile away. A couple hours later there was a kayak on the beach, a lunch packed in waterproof containers, and bottles of water waiting for our adventure. Another day he helped us get some bikes and we rode casually around the entire island. The restaurant at the resort is fantastic -- everything we ate was fresh (we even saw a cook run out of the kitchen, knock a papaya down from a tree, and run back to the kitchen) and expertly prepared. The room was immaculate -- like nowhere I have ever stayed before. It was on the one hand connected to the surrounding jungle via open walls and the lack of windows (wooden slats only). On the other hand, it was luxurious and comfortable. We basically put on our swim suits when we arrived, and only changed back into normal clothes when it was time to leave. Staying here was the absolute highlight of our Thailand trip. After tons of awesome touring, we were so happy to end our trip here.

If you are looking for anything other than a completely relaxing time, than this resort is not for you. We(family of 5 including 3 teenagers) spent a couple nights here before going to Phuket island for the remainder of our trip. The only regret is I didn't stay longer. James, and the staff at Koyao Bay Pavilions, were professional and extremely helpful in making our stay exactly the way that we wanted it. From the fresh food each day, to the excursions that were adjusted to see what our family desired. I could not recommend this resort more. James, on a personal note, thank you for all your advice on Songkran, getting around Phuket, and your overall kindness, we are grateful for your hospitality!

Koyao Pavilions is not a 5 star resort as in a 'swim up bar' or 500 hundred people around. What it is, is a lovely setting, beautifully understated accommodations, and great staff. Our host, Oliver was most gracious in greeting us when we arrived and again at each meal. The restaurant is open air and food was fantastic; best we had on the island. There were plenty of regional choices and other options if you were wanting a western flavor. They had a full bar and good wine selections were always available. While all activities were not on the property we were able to rent bikes, scooters, boats or whatever else you could want through the staff. They set up our transportation and activities easily. We stayed at the far 'pavilion', about an 8 minute walk to the beach, which was a two bedroom with a common kitchen/dining area and our own pool. It was just what we were looking for, tropical beauty without all the chaos of a large resort.
