Stayed here 9 nights in early February for a scuba diving vacation. Great location on the highway, where there are many good restaurants, bars, laundry, pharmacy, food mart, 7-11, massage, etc... there is a currency conversion booth next door that gives a great rate of USD to THB of 98.7%. Also very close to the main road that runs to the beach, where most dive shops are located, plus most great restaurants, bars, massage and souvenir shops are located. Compared to Patang / Karon / Kata this area is far more rural and quiet... a very laid back atmosphere that I enjoyed much more than last year down south. Motive: clean comfortable bed and pillows, extra towels provided upon request, prompt maid service. But what I liked best was the breakfast buffet, awesome. Each morning a different combination of rice and noodle dishes. Never had the same dish twice. Kudos to the cook. Eggs made to order by the chef, served with bacon. Fresh watermelon and pineapple. Toast machine. Milk & cereal. Great coffee. Orange juice. Outside dining in a nice covered patio area. Will definitely book here again when I come back.

Close to the Khao Lak action, Motive Cottage is on the "highway" through town, across the road from the "Main Street" where many shops and restaurants are to be found. So while there is highway noise (nicely masked by the pool's waterfall), you don't get the noise of the massed crowds that likely run from dusk to dawn - but the location is perfect, because you can easily head over the road if that's your thing too! Motive's room are generously sized, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious - a much fuller fare then I expected for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, Motive gave us fantastic value for money. Of the 5 places we stayed in the Khao Lak area, my teenage daughter is recommending Motive to her friends as a place they could all stay on their SE Asia tour - affordable, safe, clean, close to the action with a great breakfast.

The place was nice, cool pool and lounging area, nice restaurant and breakfast was good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The standard room I had was fairly basic and needed some updating, but okay. Location was fine, only 10 minutes walk to the beach, although you have to cross the main road to get to the main street that goes down to the beach, which has lots of bars massage places and shops on.

This is a nice hotel, since we had a car, we could stay at this hotel, which is not near the beach. Instead we drove to different beaches and waterfalls for variety. White Sand beach was the best for us.

Overall, a great budget hotel if you are looking to be out and explore everyday instead of staying in. Located right across the street (very dangerous to cross as it has no pedestrian lights) from the street market, convenient stores and massage, and ~10 min walk from the beach. The hotel itself is very standard with close to no amenities. There is a small pool but I never used it and they serve daily breakfast buffet, though I believe there is a fee. The room is spacious and the air conditioning was 100% functional which is essential in the hot weather. I can't vouch for the cleanliness - there were spider webs in literally every corner in the room, and my bed sheets seemed like they could be cleaner. Water pressure was acceptable; however, don't expect to enjoy hot showers as the water heater somewhat heats up water, but they were no more than lukewarm water. There is also a small hole by the window of where lizards can freely roam in and out of my room which somewhat bothered me.

We stayed for 2 weeks here and really enjoyed the room and the locale. Bingo restaurant is just two minutes walk and serves excellent thai food for a very good price all night. Mars bar up the road is and excellent bar in the evenings and e local market is just across the road. The room is very nice, the only thing i would change is the bed has no headboard and there is a line of bricks poking out of the wall at head level, a little precarious.

My husband and I wanted a hotel in Khao Lak that wouldn't break the bank and we decided to go with Motive Cottage. It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach (depending how fast or slow you walk) but it is an easy stroll down a road with lots of restaurants and bars. The only problem was there wasn't great beach access, so we ended up having to walk through another resort to actually get to the beach. The room was very comfortable and clean and we had to complaints. The breakfast was also great; you had eggs to order with breakfast meats, toast, fruit, and coffee tea, ect. Overall very comfortable room.

Many bugs リノベーションしたと見ましたが、実際に案内された部屋は古い部屋でした。(サイトの写真と全然違いました) アリがフロアやシンク、ベッドサイドテーブルまであちこちにいました。蚊が数匹、天井にはクモがいました。トイレの上のパイプが壊れていて、一晩中水漏れの音がしていました。ドライヤーが壊れていてスイッチが入りませんでした。朝食は席が管理されておらず、私がコーヒーを取りに行って席に戻ると、後から来た欧米系の老人が「ワシが先に座っていた」と、私のパンの皿を全部重ねてしまい、食べられなくなりました。立地が片側4車線の大きい国道沿いなので、トラックの音が響き、1Fがバーになっているので夜うるさく、部屋へ行く階段でタバコを吸う人々も多くて通行の妨げになっていました。お値段以下です。フロントの女性の対応は良かったです。 There are many ant not only floor also sink. Pipe above a toilet was broken so water drop sound made bother me overnight. Also hair dryer was broken. During night, car noise is big in front of the hotel. Front staff smiles good. 小さいアリ

Zuerst eins vorweg: Der erste Eindruck war nicht so positiv als wir dort ankamen. Aber anschließend und abschließend müssen wir sagen, dass es eine tolle Unterkunft ist für einen vernünftigen Preis. Das Zimmer war groß und geräumig, es gab neben den Betten auch eine Chill-Area im Zimmer. Gut, der Duschbereich könnte etwas größer sein, aber es für uns keinen "Engpass". Der Zimmerservice war auch top, täglich alles sauber gemacht und für uns aufgeräumt. Unsere Belange wurden auch bearbeitet als Zimmernachbarn unbedingt die Nacht zum Tag machen wollten. In der näheren Umgebung gab es tolle Restaurants ohne in die Touristen-Strasse zum Strand zu müssen, welche überteuert sind und nicht so gut sind. Alles in allem eine Unterkunft die beim nächsten Besuch wieder gebucht wird. Danke für den tollen Aufenthalt, dem tollen Service und den freundlichen Mitarbeitern.

値段相当のホテルでした。部屋は広く、施設は新しくは無いけど清掃はされていて使い易かった。シャワーのお湯があまり熱くならないとかは、この地域のこの価格のホテルだとしょうがないかと思います。ドライヤーがない、アメニティが無いと言うのも、値段相当かと思います。繁華街から近いのは、良いと思いました。

低層階はプールから見えてしまうという口コミがあったため、事前に高層階を希望したところ部屋は3階を用意してくれました。フロントの方が女性だっこともあり、荷物を運ぶことを手伝ってくれることはありませんでした。ホテルは全体的にお洒落な雰囲気ですが、部屋に入って目に付いたのは大量のホコリとアリ。アリはタイでは普通かなと思っていましたが、シャワーの付け根から大量のアリが発生しているのを発見。ポット中にもアリがいました…。そこからアリ退治に時間を費やしました…。滞在中に洗濯をしたい方はベランダが広いため干すのは楽ですが、日当たりが良くないため乾きは悪いです。セブンイレブンが大通りを挟んで向かいにあるので便利です。部屋は広くゆったり過ごせますが、清潔感を重視する方にはおススメしません。
