A small hotel, walking into the alley a little We got a room on the third floor, in front of which there is a cute balcony. Let's go out and sit, the room is lovely, clean, the mattress is so soft that I want to continue sleeping, haha.

The room is clean, friendly service, I really like the decoration inside and in the lobby, the breakfast is quite ok, suitable for Westerners, the water is always ready, the wifi is always full, the toilet is also clean and dry dry, what I didn't like was that the ceiling was a bit low, the room wasn't spacious and there were no slippers in the room ^^

I love this place. I always stay here when I am in Chiang Mai. It’s is a great location. Right next to many great restaurants and shopping areas. It has a pleasing esthetic and the staff is very helpful. A yummy breakfast is included in your stay and the WiFi worked well. I will be back again in the future.

Would recommend you just rock up and ask for a room rather than booking as the price was about $27 AUD different.
We booked for one night for $67 then extended and paid about $40 for the second night. I guess thats the risk you run for not having a confirmation though.

We had a perfect stay at Thapae Happy House great location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. Important to note there is no elevator if you are unable to carry your luggage up the stairs request a room on the second floor.

The room is cosy but it is a little too small. The aircon is cool, water heater is warm enough and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was decent as well. The only bad thing I can find is that there is no elevator and there are no slippers in the room. Overall, it’s a good stay.

The location of this hotel is great. It's very close to a ton of places to eat and drink but far enough away to be quiet. The rooms are really well designed in a classic way, but with a little modern touch. The only drawback is that there is no elevator to this place so it's not recommended for the handicapped.

Great breakfast and court yard area. We were on 4th floor which was a hike! If booking here, reserve a room on second floor. The queen size bed was comfortable, but the twin size was hard as a rock. We still slept comfortably due to exhaustion at the end of long days. Money exchange, restaurants, street food, massage venues within very short walking distance.

Thapae Happy House is certainly a gem, a great selection right in the middle of the Old City of the Thapae Gate. Living up to its name, we had a wonderful and happy stay here. The staffs were so accommodative that they were ready to pre-pack our early breakfast as we left very early for Doi Suthep on one of the mornings. Breakfast was simple was delicious; each plates are home-made using the freshest ingredients from the kitchen. Room was clean and kept very tidy; so was the bathroom and toilet. No elevator but it is a great reason for a short workout after indulging in awesome Thai local delicacies throughout the day.
The only thing that could be improved was the Wi-Fi. We stayed on the 4th floor and were not able to use them. Not a big issue though, as this trip is supposed to get us to disconnect from the virtual world.

Check-in is easy (tap card to unlock the door). Room was a little dirty when I checked in (hair on floor in bathroom and toilet wasn't clean). Bed was comfortable. Location is close to lots of Old City things. Breakfast was not good. Water bottles are provided in the fridge. Room has a beanbag, if you're into that sort of thing.

The hotel was clean and staff were really friendly and made it easy to check in. The room was also clean and not too small, however I would have booked a bigger room if we were there for longer. The breakfast options were quite good and there was cereal, muesli, fruit, tea, coffee and juice available as well as ordered food. There is no lift which was fine for us, as we were able to carry our bags and we were only on the first floor. The hotel was great about storing our bags after we had checked out for one night whilst we went on a safari as well. Overall, a great experience.

We were only here overnight before we went to an elephant park. The hotel is clean and nice, the staff were great and our room was clean and ideal for an overnight trip. However, the room was quite small so personally we would not have wanted to stay here longer than one night. For breakfast there was limited options but it was a nice area and really nice sitting outside enjoying the weather early in the morning. Overall, a great hotel and some of the more expensive rooms may have been more suited to a longer stay!

Great location and staff were all friendly and helpful. Like the mini pantry available at the lobby. Room is a tad small but cozy. The 1st room we had had blocked drainage that cause a mini flood while we shower. Our 2nd room was at the 4th level and had to climb all the way up and down having no lift. Breakfast was so-so, hence we rather eat out.

We have a great vacation in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, the hotel is nice, clean, all the attraction is nearby, easy access to everywhere, tuk-tuk and red car is a common transportation in Chiang Mai city, the people there are very polite and helpful. We have really enjoyed the market food, cheap and delicious, especially for the roast pork... yummy..
This is an Eco friendly hotel, breakfast is nice, the open air concept for the hotel except rooms.
