The service was excellent! Very mind and helpful people. One direction is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the tourist areas. The opposited direction is a great local market, small restaurants, nice coffee shop, close to a large 7 Eleven, and pharmacy. The Blues Pub has great food and prices. Older rooms but worth the price!

For the price I guess I got what I paid for. I am fine with basic, but do want clean and we didn’t get clean. No fresh towels unless I begged for them and waited until 3 pm. I have to say hats off to the “man about the place” who seemed to be running everything from front desk to pool clean up and breakfast dishes on what must be 2 hrs sleep.

I read a review that stated that Wiriya House is an oasis in the city. I whole heartedly agree... with a big buuuuut. Oasis in the city, due to swimming pool, friendly helpful staff and prime location, but the hotel itself is quite run down and in need of a bit of modernisation, the worst bring the bathrooms, which were both run down and really unclean. The bedroom was a mosquito murder scene, with months of splats clueing me in to the fact I'd spend my stay wondering how so many got in to the room (cover all the bathroom drains!). The fact that the hotel has painted over some marks in the wall with a slightly different white that the rest of the room only serves to add to the run down effect. That being said, for €19, the pool was a godsend, you're close to both weekend markets, it's a very quiet, safe location and the staff were so helpful and friendly. A definite recommendation, with a pretty warning about the shabbiness.

Great price. great wifi. Key for your room so you can charge devices while out. If cleanliness is intrinsic to your stay don't come. 2 doors down bicycle hire 50 baht/day. Baan bakery, yummy, down the road. Further north, local markets, fried rice 10baht, little bag sweet potatoes 10 baht. Can hear people in corridor and dogs barking. Stayed 18 nights. We arrived in Chiang Mai in the driving rain. I was able to find the guesthouse down a quiet street fairly easily, and our reservation thru Expedia was recognized without issues. There is a pool, rooms were average, but clean and fairly quiet. The location is good, within walking distance to Chiang Mai gate and the night food market there. Decent value, and good to have a room waiting for us on our first night there.

I guess can some it up with the old you get what you pay for. $18 a night so hard to really say anything bad. Shower curtain could definitely use a cleaning as it had black gunk all over it. Bed was a little hard but have been staying in Asia for over 5years so we were used to it. They forgot to clean the room and give us water one day. Told them about it and they were aware of the water as the supply ran out. Next day was ok but didn't give any extra. Liked the location neighborhood was really quiet. Really good night sleep and just peaceful to be out at night. About a 10-15 min walk to the night bazaar. Overall if I was on a tight budget I would stay again.

We really liked staying here. Definately not luxurious, just a bit above basic. We found it clean, the staff were friendly, the food was reasonably priced and the best was the Thai food. The quality of the beds were variable from quite firm to too soft. The pool was well maintained. A good place to relax, chill out from the bussle of the town. I recommend walking up the stairs to the roof for a great view of the immediate area. It was difficult to explain to transport drivers were to this place was but take a card from reception with the address listed and this will solve any issues. The food was great but there was only 1 cook and service tended to be very slow; other local food outlets tended to have faster service.

We (family of 2 adults and 3 children) stayed for 5 nights after initially booking 3. Rooms are basic, bed comfortable, hot shower, breakfast basic but ok, great value for money. Staff very helpful with any request and day staff speak good English. The pool was the highlight spending many hours in it after walking around the old town. Very close to the Saturday walking street, only 10 minute walk to centre of old town or short tuk tuk or taxi ride. The Blues Pub across the road has great food at low prices. They also do great laundry. We wanted a quiet stay and Wiriya is just far enough out of the party areas to achieve this. Would definitely recommend to others. We loved it!
