Beautiful hotel with stunning views, friendly staff, great amenities overall, spacious rooms. Downside - very large professional gatherings which makes the hotel very loud at times, and restaurants not accessible.

Outstanding breakfast buffet, spotless spacious rooms, and a concierge who went above and beyond. The staff were second to none, always checking on guests, and the Sky Bar views were breathtaking. My only suggestions would be more umbrellas by the outdoor pool and slightly warmer pool water, as it was quite cold in late May.

The restaurant and cafe staff seemed unhappy and the level of service was poor. Only liked the room and bathroom is decent, however had no bath tub or dressing table to get ready. Spa facilities are great. Overall wouldn’t stay again, wasn’t welcomed or made feel special for our wedding anniversary. Has a good Indian restaurant called Madhu’s but the staff doesn’t understand basic English. Poor service too.

Istanbul is built on six hills and the central touristy areas are the Sultanahmet and Taksim Square / Istiklal Avenue and their surroundings. we stayed for six nights and this included the Eid ul Adha holidays spanning four days. The city was crowded no matter where you went. However, the luxury hotels are a bit further up north from these central areas and situated along the Bosphorus shoreline on the European side. These are all on hills and takes 10-15 mins walking to reach any useful tram or metro station. Swissotel is one of these and spread over 65 hectares. Taking an Uber yellow taxi to and from the hotel to Taksim square was around $5.00 each and made it very convenient to reach any touristy site. The calm, beautiful and elegant surroundings of the hotel were something to treasure. And on top of it all it was immaculately clean and artistically a marvel. The experience right from the moment of entering, checking-in and settling in the room was like a breeze. The breakfast buffet (included on our reservation) was out of this world. Despite being a large restaurant and full of guests, the staff were super attentive and the quality of eatables available was just fantastic. The room was made up each day and in a meticulous manner. I once left my night suit hanging in the bathroom and found it neatly folded on my bed when I returned. Tap water is not drinkable in Istanbul and this hotel provided an unlimited supply of free bottled water to the rooms. Top marks.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. We stayed at a hotel in Sultanamet for the first week of our trip in order to experience old town Istanbul but I wish we had stayed at the SwissOtel the full two weeks instead of just the second week. It has the best amenities including a full gym with classes and a spa for services such as massages, facials and other treatments that is larger than most stand alone spas. The food was excellent as was the staff. We will definitely be returning anytime we visit Istanbul. Do not make the mistake of choosing a different hotel.

I stayed here twice - in September 2025 and again in May 2026 - and both stays were excellent. The staff are warm and professional, and the location is good for sightseeing by taxi, though less ideal for walking since the hotel sits on a hill. Nişantaşı is about 15 minutes away on foot, Dolmabahçe Palace around 10 minutes downhill, and Taksim Square roughly 15 minutes away. The hotel itself is fantastic, with a huge lobby, luxury boutiques, and one of the best Bosphorus views in Istanbul - especially from 16 Roof (reservations recommended). My suite was very large, with a dining table, several sofas and armchairs, and two bathrooms. Water pressure was excellent. Suite guests get Executive Lounge access, including breakfast, so there’s no need to pay extra for a breakfast package. The lounge breakfast is decent but somewhat limited by Turkish luxury-hotel standards. Breakfast in the main restaurant, however, is truly excellent and much more extensive. The hotel also has a very good gym plus indoor and outdoor pools. Very little to complain about. If I had to nitpick, the bathrooms lack a bidet, which feels surprising at this level of luxury. Also, outside breakfast and happy hour, the lounge offers relatively limited snacks and drinks. Overall, this is an outstanding five-star hotel and one of the best luxury-value options in Istanbul. Even as a long-time Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador/Titanium member, I would happily stay here again over many Marriott properties in the city.

Great place! The only minus of this hotel is a walk to the tram station - it takes about 15-20 min to get there and it’s uphill, you just need to be ready for that after a whole day of exploring Istanbul, but the stay at the hotel is worth it with all the amazing amenities and wonderful staff!

Great place! The only minus of this hotel is a walk to the tram station - it takes about 15-20 min to get there and it’s uphill, you just need to be ready for that after a whole day of exploring Istanbul, but the stay at the hotel is worth it with all the amazing amenities and wonderful staff!
