Candlewood Suites RICHMOND AIRPORT

The property is average. The staff is amazing. The room we booked for three adults had one king bed and one chair that slightly reclined. We had to go purchase an air mattress from Target because there were no other rooms/roll aways available. The king bed was terrible. It was soft and sagged, the mattress under the protector was disgusting. The heat/air in the livingroom section of the suite did not function at all. The chair in the diningroom section of the suite were in terrible condition and not the proper size for the counter height table. Again, the staff were very pleasant but the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired.

Upon arrival, the staff member was courteous, attentive, and accommodating. There was a seamless process to get my room keys and squared away for the evening. If there’s any negatives, it was only that there were dead ladybugs smashed on a few of the walls as well as on the floor. Lastly, it took them a while to replenish the hand lotion in the room as I requested it around 6 AM and it wasn’t rectified when I returned at 11 PM later that day. It is not worthy that while they say breakfast is included it is a very poultry selection and it is mainly for purchase outside of tea and coffee. Luckily there’s a Cracker Barrel not far from the hotel so you can get a satisfactory breakfast there.

It’s nice to have a room with a mini-kitchen so close to the airport.

I only stayed for one night, but the room was spacious. It had a hot plate to heat up my dinner instead of the microwave. The commercial coffee provided wasn't half bad, and the shower was hot with good pressure.

I booked this hotel near the airport because it advertised a shuttle and I had an early flight. When I arrived for check in and asked about the shuttle they stated it was only M-F 9a-5p. This was misleading and not represented well. The place was overall pretty clean, but the hand sanitizer in the gym was out, which was adjacent to the washers/dryers so it was very warm inside the gym as well.

This hotel is tucked into a quiet area near the airport. There are restaurants and a grocery store within a mile. The rooms have a small kitchenette and are clean and comfortable. I am a repeat customer .

The General Manger here has the worst customers service ever. Second the bed is past due for replacement. This place water pipe burst. Not the fault of the hotel, I can understand this. I asked the GM for a few vottles of water so that I may brush my teeth and do whatever hygene I can due to the circumstances. Please keep in mind they have a "mini mart" inside. His reply was I don't have any water to offer you. I looked and pointed into the "Mini Mart" he said those are for sale. Are you kidding me??? He rhen said wit one minute let me ask the plumber how long. This man asked the plumbers and then proceed to pace the hallway an additional 10 minutes as I stood in there and watched. After 10 minutes i walked up and asked again about the water. Long story short, he gave me 2 bottles after i wasted about 20-25 minutes of my time. The GM needs a hospitality course, and some problem solving training. Ment to add, he walks away from you as you are speaking to him.

Good clean room, quick hot water, staff was very helpful. Dont be shy to ask the desk if you get a room with a kitchen but lack some dishes, they'll find one for you.

The property’s WiFi was down and elevator broke. They were understaffed and had many issues. There was no bottled water available to purchase. In my room, the TV remote did not work and the hand soap did not work. The room was nice enough, but the rest of the property seemed in disrepair. I won’t stay here again, even for a less expensive rate than surrounding hotels.

Big spacious room and nice bathroom. Nice refrigerator and a stove. Great comfortable place to stay.

This is a “dog friendly” hotel, and when we exited the elevator, walking to our room, it sounded like a kennel. We immediately went back to the front desk and said we need a different floor, which they were able to do. Looking back at the reviews, I don’t understand how we booked this hotel. We slipped up. We would never recommend this hotel to anyone. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were great, and the kitchenette was well stocked. The shower pressure was outstanding!
