Central Park West Hostel

The room looked nothing like the pictures displayed on the website. The room was horrific. The entrance was not welcoming at all.

It is a beautiful and wonderful place surrounded by all services, but it is better for those who want to go to keep their car at home.

They should do a deep clean in the water dispenser, small insects in it... and some cockroaches were in the bathroom. The rest is ok 👍

the furniture is old, dirty and ripped, no lightbulbs, the space in between the toilet and the wall is super reduced, the sink is full of mold. And the smell of weed inside the building is horrendous.

We went to the property and nobody answered. We could not do a check in, and now they don’t want to refund us

I booked this room because as it was advertised on Expedia, it appeared clean and nice for the price; what i got proved it false advertisement. What pictures you see are specifically curated. Very likely the first floor. Which is the only floor to have wifi by the way, in the lounge. The free wifi advertisment is a lie. I also was not informed that I, a woman, would be sharing a room- much less with a random man that walked in while I was half naked and sleeping. The front desk treated me as if I was unreasonable for being deeply disturbed and traumatised by this, and I immediately left that night.

There is not hot water, everything very dirty, restrooms, rooms.

Very bare. No lockers in the dorms, room is poorly lit and not well-ventilated, the lounge area with the adjacent mess hall are unkempt, and the communal shower rooms are grimy and do not have toilet rolls. The hostel's only positive attribute is its very close proximity to Central Park, convenience stores, and the subway.

It seems that there are local homeless people living in the propriety (not that is a problem, but they need to add extra steps to keep the place clean), and there are so many cockroaches everywhere. They must not have done proper pest control for several months.

Great option with great location and price.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, would definitely stay here again.

Not recommend to general travelers

Unfortunately, the pictures are way nicer on the sites. Luckily I only saw one roach which was near the lobby kitchen area and no rats. Great location however.

The same issue mentioned in previous reviews: noisy from HC/heating-air conditioner. Good location, but definitely, need maintenance.

Location is great. It was too hot and noisy during night because oil heater kept running all night.

It's exactly what you pay for. Where else can you stay in NYC for this price? The bed was very uncomfortable and the provided sheet left me freezing through out the night...Other than that, it's a roof over your head for a great price.

Everything is ok.but window has no protection and broken half part of aircooler site that delivered cool air all times.i think owner of hostel need to make some renovation of window and other necessary parts of rooms

No amenities except Wi-Fi, but only on ground floor. Low rates but only a few dollars less than another hostel 15 blocks uptown which offers a lot of amenities. Rooms are only 2 person rooms.

This was the worst experience ever!!! I only stayed there for 1 night because I had no other option but left the property the next day asap in the morning! The pictures on the website have nothing to do with the real rooms! Very dirty, cockroaches everywhere! Bad smell in the building! Very hotand you can not open any windows!!! I cancelled my stay and I want refund!!
