The room was clean, and I mean surgical clean. I am one of those crazy people that check a room with a flashlight, and I couldn't find a speck of dust or a water spot in the bathroom. Staff is friendly, courteous and accommodating. Great little motel. There are a couple of community fire pits, free marshmallows to make smores, a couple of hacky sack games. They also have a dog pen for the pups. There are 2 State Parks (Robert H Treman and Buttermilk), which I was visiting were a few minutes' drive away. This and the reviews were the reason I chose this hotel. If I am ever back in the area, I would diffidently choose the Grayhaven.

Great communication from the owners—it's a hands-on small business, and their pride in making everything great is clear. The room was sizeable, clean, and comfortable. Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever experienced in a hotel/motel/rental. Plenty of desk/counter/luggage space. Coffee and light breakfast options in the morning (local yogurt, granola, oatmeal) were a nice way to start the day. I wasn't at the room during room service hours, but the prices seemed reasonable and not jacked up like the average hotel. And while i didn't get to take advantage of the fire pits, the complimentary S'mores kit was a nice touch. Be sure to take some time to check out the artwork in the lounge in the main office building, all done by local artist Stacia Humby.

What a sweet property. I only wish it was spring or summer so we could have enjoyed the grounds. When you go to an owner managed property you appreciate the small details that go into making your stay special. We happened to have brought our pup on this quick trip up to Ithaca to watch our sons play lacrosse against Cornell. When we arrived to the room there was a dog sheet for the bed (smart), a towel, a water bowl and of course a treat. The room was decorated minimally with midcentury modern furniture (some looked original) and decor. I loved that they updated, but kept some of the charm. I had the pleasure of chatting with one of the owners when I grabbed a cup of coffee the morning of our departure and she could not have been lovelier. It was all around a great experience. I would highly recommend the Grayhaven if you are traveling up to Ithaca. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

The whole place felt frozen in time, clean, and definitely on a ‘50s kick. The bed was firm and comfortable, parking easy, grab and go breakfast options convenient (coffee, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt). The jazz playing in the main lounge areas was also cementing the vibe. Of note, the floors do creak and carry vibrations from neighbors, though expectations of this were set up front. I had a cooler in my room, no microwave nor fridge, yet I was prepared as I knew in advance. You could order something to be delivered to door if you needed. Highly recommend this place.
