We had an amazing time on our honeymoon staying at Kasa Gaslamp! We highly recommend to anyone visiting downtown San Diego. Transit to places like LaJolla, the beaches, Balboa Park and the Zoo were very accessible. Our room was extremely quiet (weekdays and weeknights). Our room had a full kitchen and the bed was so comfortable! The communication was great and check-in codes/instructions were so simple. Such a great experience from Kasa! We will be back!

I liked being a close walk to the convention center. They left a coupon for the restaurant downstairs. It's in a 1887 building so things are a little quirky to fit. I had a little suite with a bedroom that the door closed and a little separate room with couch and TV. The kitchenette was well stocked with settings for at least 5, pots pans, pasta strainer. Mini fridge, electric 2 burner, microwave, toaster, hot water pot, and coffee maker. Also a mini first aid kit and a fire extinguisher. There is a white noise machine and ear plugs, but I was in a back room and did not need them. There is background noise from the street at night.... But I was in the heart of gaslamp. So much to do just steps away. Hop skip and jump to ballpark also.

Such a great hotel. Even being over a bar the noise wasn't noticable. Nice to be able to just walk to nearly anything from the hotel. $13 overnight parking within a few blocks

Stay here if you want to explore Gaslamp Quarter restaurants and bars and/or attend a game at Petco Park. Great amenities and spacious rooms. It’s in between 2 restaurants so may be a bit noisy (depending on your room location). Hallways and elevators were a bit smelly and dirty. However the room was clean and price was very reasonable.

Only good thing was room was nice and clean other than that hallway just seemed dirty. Elevator was dirty and smelled was a bit noisy. Also there’s no parking on this property and it’s very difficult to find some. You have to park your car blocks away and leave it there no In-N-Out.

The place was easy to find, and nestled between two bars. The elevator going up to room smelled awful and was very nauseating like raw sewage each and everytime we used it. The room was cozy, but super tight fit. You are in the Gaslamp district where the nightlife is thriving, so they provide a sound machine and ear plugs to help drown out the sounds. The mini fridge leaked and reported it and was told someone would come to check on that, no one did. And then we had a little problem at the start of our stay being threatened to cancel it due to noise disturbance/complaints, even though 1. We were out of the room when these complaints were made 2. We are literally surrounded by bars which are notoriously loud. Turns out there is a noise detector in the rooms (read your fine print) and what it was picking up on was there was a fire alarm that went off in one of the bars. The customer service on that was very nonchalant and basic about it and for them a simple apology was suffice even though they threatened to cancel our stay and fine me per contract. I was super pissed and irritated by the whole experience that had me stressed out for the remainder of my stay. I was speaking as low as I could because of not wanting to set off the alarm. Just a terrible experience altogether. I will never go back there again, if not for the terrible experience but the nauseating smell of the elevator alone.

Upon arrival I couldn’t get access into the building because the door wasn’t working. After 4 calls and 2 maintenance guys, they just decided to keep the building door unlocked the next day. It was so inconvenient because we had to use the side door of a restaurant to get in and the employees were super annoyed we had to do so. The elevator has a really bad smell. The room wasn’t 100% clean. Overall I was not satisfied with my experience here. Parking was also inconvenient, which I expected l, because in gaslamp you usually have to find a lot nearby to park in. A lot of the lots were full or didn’t do over night. We found one nearby that we had to just keep paying for every 10 hours. Expect it to be noisy all night because you are above some bars. Silver lining about this place is that it’s really close to everything. Walking distance to petco stadium for the padres game and close to the convention center as well.

Good things: 1. Close to convention center 2. Suite was pleasant 3 Help from staff- Marlon and John were very nice to us and helpful and honestly the saving grace of this place. Bad things: 1. Too loud downstairs 2. For an exorbitant price, it was a less than decent experience walking in, dirty dingy walkway, dirty elevator, sticky floors. 3. Ac was blasting in bedroom but rest of the suite was too warm 4. Ac would shut down on its own in the middle of the night 5. One night the fire alarm went off, we were away but there was no message or text of any sort from management. We had to be out of the room until 11 pm. 6. It took a hours for whoever was on text to respond. We had to call the 1800 number to get help. In short, over priced, no lobby or reception , very loud but staff were nice.

Overall, the room is as nice. While there was a table, it only had one chair so we could not both sit to eat together. One person had to sit on the bed. The elevator was very run down and was out of order the day we left. We were on the 4th floor with large suitcases so the elevator being out of order was an issue. There was poor signage for the stairs so we went down an extra flight before realizing we needed to stop at the second floor and then take another set of stairs down the hall to get out of the hotel. The location was great which made up for the things it lacked.

This is an OLD Hotel, which I loved as it was so historic. Completely remodeled inside though. Amazing location in the historic Gas Lamp District. So many great places to eat all around the hotel. I was here on business & it was WAY less expensive than the big-name hotels. I will be staying here again with my wife when I come back for my nephew's graduation from USMC Boot Camp in September.
