Desk staff and other staff were verify friendly and helpful. The location so close to Central Park is excellent! Parking is the usual NYC problem but we found some street parking. Air conditioner worked well. Breakfast was much better than we expected - good variety that changed every day. Overall a good place to stay in NYC.

I only have two complaints. Number one was finding someone's used Oral-B toothpick on the floor next to the bed and number two, there was no continental breakfast. I was pretty bummed out.

I love the location of this property and the service has always been friendly and responsive. It’s an older building but kept up pretty well and I’ve never had an issue with cleanliness. Maybe just my particular room this time, but definitely some maintenance minor maintenance issues that were annoying. My largest issue was the mattress; it was awful and made a very difficult night of sleep, it can’t be thrown away and replaced soon enough.

Luckily I stayed here only one night because this is a one-star experience. Some reasons: - Dirty, both outside the room and in; carpets that seem like they haven't been cleaned in years and a mattress with a torn cover and stains. Paint also looked like it hadn't been touch up in years. - A single elevator that is tiny and s l o w. - Upon arriving on my floor, area around elevator had lots of plastic garbage all around. - No remote for TV; after calling front desk about it, no remote ever showed up. - A single bedbug was found on my pillow; looked for infestation and didn't find it, but still .... - Air conditioner that was too loud; I've stayed in NY long enough to know that the rooms will be tiny, so equip it with a better AC. - Room felt dusty, and my partner was coughing, possibly from that. Staff was very nice upon being informed of said bedbug and refunded our payment.

We checked in on a Sunday and the nightmare began. I informed them our tv was not working. By Tuesday they finally came to take care of it. Not once when I asked if they would come and change the bed sheet I was told they would do it every other day. I replied well we been here for 3 days and no one has come. Breakfast was a horrible experience. The food selection was poor. There is no a commanding for people with Diabetes. No sugar free anything . There was only whole milk or low fat milk . Not everyone uses that.

This will be my last time staying at a La Quinta…awful I requested room service and towels and when I came back from a long day being in the city I found the card key on the door and a not disturb sign that we didn’t leave good thing nothing was missing from my room. Then sine day one I was asking for a coffee pot that should been already in the rm never got it . Then break was only toast and oatmeal the second day the first day they also had yogurt and muffins and we couldn’t sit in dining area because the kitchen was close but the food service workers were there sitting playing with their phones. The only person trying to help were the front desk receptionist. Never again!!!

I stayed here about two years ago and loved the area, so I came back. It has changed. It is seriously in need of updating—everything about the rooms and the hallways is weathered, dirty, soiled, and ripped. The staff was very nice; it's not their fault- they cleaned as well as they could, but I will not be back until it's updated, understanding that the cost will rise.

Don't have the housekeeping good supervision. Few cleaning staff, too many rooms, and lack of supervision after cleaning. Smoking is allowed, and noise and disturbances are tolerated in the early morning.

Arrived and the receptionist was on the phone with someone else and on a speaker. You could hear the conversation including the cursIng. Tv did not work, not hot water and hue plugs were broke and unsafe. They heard my concerns but did nothing about. Stay away from this place

Staff needs to take customer relations training! The only staff was excellent, the lady serving breakfast. Front desk staff very rude and don’t know manners at all. They should be taking manners training! Although the location is excellent, I will not stay there again!

Quiet area close to subway, Central Park, food and shopping. Very nice staff. There is only 1 elevator for 14 floors for the guests AND staff and it definitely needs replacing. Faucet was loose, there was only 1 lamp for the 2 night stands. There is NO handrail of any kind in the shower. We had a king room with a desk and 1 chair. No microwave or mini fridge. The entire place needs a good cleaning. The double paned windows are very dirty on the inside. I did like the Dove products. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice so that helped. It was almost $800 for a 3 night stay Tues-Thurs which I thought was way high for what I describe above. We still had a fun time in NYC but this hotel should be in better condition for what they are charging.

I requested a refund because we did not stay. The bed had a stain on it, and the bathroom was not fully cleaned. Not to mention the room was so small that when you open the door you fall into the bed. The dresser was from the 1950s. And it had a window AC unit. It was like a converted New York apartment and was misleading. I would still like my refund.
