Very dated. Mold around the refrigerator door seal. Bath floor was old and didn’t appear clean. Bed was comfortable

Absolutely the worst hotel I’ve ever checked in to. I don’t know what some of the people were thinking when they wrote good reviews. It was musty, mold on the refrigerator, the elevator was scary to ride, the bathroom was the smallest ever. The toilet was literally touching the shower and when you flushed it it made a loud squeaking sound. The shower looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in yrs. We went out to eat, came back and checked out and immediately went to a better hotel down the road.

Property needs some upkeep. Fan was falling in bathroom, security lock was missing part of hit to catch, tiolet had to shake handle so wouldn’t run, air conditioner was noisy and ran ineffectively we actually open window with screens to help cool room. The upside was it was one of cheapest in town as it was graduation weekend. Tried to save some $$ but probably wouldn’t stay another time.

Not clean. Many dust bunnies on ceiling and did not clean room.

Very few options for breakfast, bed was not the most comfortable. While it is very cheap to stay here, was hoping for a bit better conditions.

I really like the location of the hotel. It was located in a quiet area.

The two staff that manned the desk were very nice. However, when I discussed my concerns about the condition of the rooms, the only thing they could offer was changing rooms. The gentleman at the desk at 3:30 am said he would talk to the manager but I haven't heard from anyone. The original room I was given had cobwebs so large on the walls around the bed, it was clear that the room had not been cleaned in quite sometime. The deadbolt did not work. There were white stains on the upholstery of the brown desk chair. The edges of the bed spread were frayed. There were sticky spots on the desk area and on the table next to the bed. I was offered a different room so I took it. Little did I know the condition of the linens and bathroom.The sheet had an orange/reddish stain in the location of where an adult would be laying as if that was from bodily fluid or waste. Stained sheets should not be reused and should definitely not be left on a bed a person is paying to use. I tried using towels to lay on top of the sheets so that I could still get some rest and one of the towels had a brown stain on it. The toilet would not stop running even after jiggling the handle to make it stop. The tv wall mount was broken leaving the tv leaning forward and supported by the wall. It was a completely miserable experience. I decided I could not stay and chose to sleep in my car instead. I understand that Microtel is a discount hotel, however, cleanliness should never be compromised.

This property is fantastic! Very under-rated!!! I have always have had great experiences here. The staff is great and the hotel is very clean. The complimentary breakfast is plentiful and there is coffee all day! Don't hesitate to stay here!

The rooms are not taken care of, the sinks had cracks in them, the counter top in the bathroom was chipped in multiple places. There was rust on all the metal pieces in the bath area. The shower head had one stream of water coming out of it and was rusted. The hotel in general was not cared for, the landscaping was non existent. The parking lot has holes in it. Just not a nice place to stay at all!!

Worked well for our quick overnight in Ames. Clean besides needing new carpet.

Nice motel, nothing fancy, but clean and friendly. Basic breakfast.
