Really great location, minutes walking to Public Market. And had no issues with hearing any outside noises while sleeping. The bed was super comfy and the room was very clean. The hotel as a whole was clean and obviously well taken care of. I also loved the rooftop terrace. The staff was excellent, very nice & accommodating. I would most definitely stay here again.

We like the state hotel and our room is great and the customer service was really good as well! But one block away there is a lot of heavy druggies and homelessness on the street. We had no idea and we walked right into it one evening. Stay away from Third and Pike Street!

Overall, had a great experience. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the pillows. One pillow was completely flat, and the other was clumpy and uncomfortable. The bed was fine, a little stiffer than I like but it was good enough. Staff was friendly and helpful. Did appreciate the dinning tokens. I was staying in the room with a water view, but it was a small window that was right next to the desk and not easy to view out of. In the future I will opt for the other view if it ends up being cheaper as it didn't add any value to my stay.

Such a cool hotel and great staff. Can't beat the location to Pike Place Market! The only thing to keep in mind is their is off site parking. It would be super helpful if they would email the parking link with instructions before you check in instead of the current system they have now.

Everyone here from the check in to the check out was very friendly and welcoming. The king bed was super comfortable and the walk in rainfall shower was a reprieve from a long day. The restaurant and all the staff were awesome as well. Great seafood dinner and nice breakfast. Location is perfect for your time in Seattle. Book the room with the view of the bay.

The State is a boutique hotel with a funky vibe (in a good way). The room was a bit small and it lacked some amenities but the bed was very comfortable and for a downtown hotel it was quiet. A couple of minor gripes: 1) the in room coffee is pretty lame 2) the bathroom could use a couple of towel racks 3) charging $8 for a water bottle is ridiculous A couple of positives: 1) the hotel staff was great! Helpful and affable 2) the hotel restaurant has a great breakfast and the staff there is great. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return if Seattle is again our destination.

This is a great hotel within walking distance of the market and the pier attractions. There are rentable bikes/scooters to get to further areas of the city or the mono-rail (also walkable if you prefer). The room was great, clean, and comfortable, and the staff all around were very helpful. Be warned that there is a $100/day hold that will be applied when you check in, and a $25/day amenity fee that will be billed on check-out, which isn't very clear when booking through Expedia. The Restaurant is very good (though slightly expensive, but in line with other dining in the area). There is a Target next door if you need to purchase anything, and the front desk has some every day items if you are in a bind.

The only thing that really surprised me is the rooms are small. Like a nice bathroom, and the room pretty much has room for the bed is all. For the cost, I was surprised. The parking is another thing. $28.50 for 24 hours, and it is across the road and down about a block. Not sure how you would get to your rig at night if you wanted to. The location is what it is all about.

Let’s start with the good: Great location near Pike’s Place and conveniently across from the downtown Target. Ben Paris is a great restaurant and the hotel gives you a discount. The rooms are stylish, comfortable and clean. The decor in the hotel and restaurant is so fun - especially the wallpaper! The cons are minor but still frustrating: The “free WiFi” doesn’t work which means you can’t stream your services on the TV. The TV has limited cable and the menu is completely wrong. The public WiFi they offer is riddled with piracy and privacy issues. If you’re here to see the downtown sites and dine at the restaurant in the hotel- outstanding. If you’re trying to relax and unwind in your room- pick somewhere else.
