West Gate Inn Nyack

This is an Okay place and may have bed bugs.

Clean room, friendly staff, good breakfast. Only negative would be that they could do some updates to the property.

Hotel needs major renovations and upgrades. Sheets and towels were very worn out. Room carpet was in terrible condition.

The rooms could use a little cosmetic updating but the staff was fantastic!

The first room that was given to us smelled horribly like smoke. The representative was apologetic and quickly gave us another room. The second room had a light smoke odor but we dealt with it. Just before checking out, we noticed the smoke alarm was covered with a plastic bag and paper towels. That explained the smell. The property was clean but we will spend a little more money next time and stay else where.

Check in was smooth. Employees were friendly. The AC made a terrible noise. Room was clean. The beds were not very comfortable though. The breakfast was yummy! Parking was easy.

I stay in Nyack often and of all the hotels in the area, Westhate is the best choice for many reasons and there are others that look newer but are not better than Westgate. They treat you like family and rooms are clean and affordable. Best around

Happy with stay

This hotel was very rundown and dirty.

Not a bad stay for the money. Lots of homeless and tweakers walking around at all hours of the night. Traffic is heavy around the area especially durning rush hour lots of honking. Staff is great except for the breakfast lady she’s kinda rude. They offer a buffet breakfast but you can’t get seconds or serve yourself. You will get yelled at for serving yourself when nobody is there to serve you. Room is basic but clean. Good for an over night stay nothing more. I wouldn’t bring kids here. Way too many homeless and tweakers trying to talk to girls and kids. It makes it uncomfortable.

Room smelled terrible. Made me nauseous and gave me an instant headache. Light was broken, could have shocked myself if I wasn't paying attention. TV didnt work. Door looked as though it was broken down. Left after an hour and received no refund. Hotels.com has since offered me $25 keycash. Not enough. This was enough to make me leave town and miss an important event for my child.

Quick and comfortable getaway not too far from the city.

This hotel is very central That's why we choose it. I gave a 2 for cleaniningless because although bathroom and beds were clean the room needs a lot of TLC. The front desk was very courteous.

The staff was friendly. The room was easy to access and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and complimentary. The only complaint i have is that our room could have been cleaner. The lamp bases were sticky and the bathroom floor had hair on it. Overall i highly recommend and would stay here again.

The carpet

A/C unit unresponsive. Continued to blow stiflingly hot air regardless of setting or how long I left it to cool off. I have experienced this in multiple rooms so it's not just one unit. It's the way their HVAC system runs. They choose the settings and your stuck with it. At least you can turn it off so it doesn't blow hot air in. Beds are mushy, old and in need of replacement. Overpriced on the weekends but if they can get $150 a night and be fully booked then who am I to complain. They did have vacancy when I checked however....

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room and even with it being set up like a motel it’s very quiet. Great place for quick trip. Mobil convenient store across the street.

The hotel had a lot of visitors that hung out at night and also there were three people checked into the room and I told them that which they knew and they kept giving us two towels. I had to go get a third towel and the toilet was not the plumbing was not very good at all yet yet to hold your hand on the toilet in order for the flush the entire way.

A winner! Clean, friendly and reasonable price. Good breakfast. The server was ever so friendly.
