5 Stars Hotels in Hang Buom Ward, Hoan Kiem District

We arrived around 2 pm. There was no one in the hotel. All the doors of the hotel rooms were open with the keys in the doors. We called the phone number at the reception. A short time later a guy who I feel sorry for turned up on a motorcycle. He gave us our room number. Getting to the room is a whole other story. 5 floors up. In the room there was no TV. The AC did not work. There was an obscured window in the room. When I went downstairs to the reception the guy said you want a TV? That 's what we paid for, I replied! So I went back up the stairs and got a TV from 1 room, a remote from another and batteries for both the TV and AC from another room. Still didn't see anyone else. As for the bed my wife got covered in bed bug bites down her side which ended up getting infected from the bedding. The bites are only healing now. The fiberglass shower base was broken in the middle. Broken right through to the floor. We had to stand on the edge of the shower base to shower. Being careful not to cut our legs on the broken fiberglass. There was no drinking water, coffee or tea provided. But there was a kettle. When asked at reception about drinking water coffee etc advised not included. So off we went to buy some. The hotel is located in a great location. As we were only staying 1 night my wife and I treated it as an adventure. We live in Hoian. We have travelled all over Vietnam for many years. This hotel is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in in the world. I'm 70. If the room rate was cheaper it would suit a skinny backpacker who would not fall through the crack in the shower base and is not allergic to bed bugs! The hotel is nothing like the ad photos. We didn't take photos as we didn't want the guy at reception to lose his job for something completely out of his control.

We got scammed here! Ordered deluxe room but got the dorm type when arrived.

The private room was so bad, I didn't even have space move my body so the next day I asked to change to dorm and it was better. They should take care better of bathrooms, that the only thing that 's unacceptable.

If you want a hotel in old quarter that is centre of everything. This is it clean room nice breakfast nice staff everything. If I ever back to Hanoi again. This is where I absolutely will stay

The room is clean & staff are courteous, helpful and friendly especially the porter named Duong who picked me up and escorted me to the hotel during the street closure over the weekend market. Perfect location with walking distance to the night market and lots of good local & international restaurants including street vendors.

Dirty, not friendly and not helpful staff

Staff very friendly and give some recommendations for visitor around the area.

We had booked 2 room (1 superior double room and 1 deluxe triple room) for 3 Night from 1-4 February 2024. Room is clean enough even we found dusty on top of table and inside of cupboard. There are no electric kettle and glass on the deluxe triple room. Also no tea and coffee on both room as per image on advertisement.  Also we asked to clean the room but they don't. During we had checked in, the guy of receptionist is OK enough.  But when we had checked out on 4 February early morning, the guy of receptionist is really really really bad attitude.  He laid down on sofa on lobby while played online game on his handphone. We said we would like to checked out and gave the key to him. He did not move and keep playing the game. We had awaiting the taxi airport who will pick up us at 04.00 a. M. But till 30 min the taxi had not come yet. Before, we had gave the hotel phone number to taxi driver to contact us  because we don't have Vietnam phone number. We heard the hotel phone had ringing for several times, and I asked the guy to pick up. And really really really we had surprised what he said to us – no no finish money – I really don't understand what he said,  but he does not helpful at all. This is really really bad bad bad impression during my holiday in Hanoi. . Even cheap or emergency condition –  not recommended to stay in this bad hotel.

Very nice people, even my booked room was not ok, but the manager changed another room for me and satisfied my option, they are friendly and helpful all the way, I am very pleased and grateful to them, many thanks.
