Terrible Experience at Saigon Phu Yen Hotel – September 2nd, 2026 Holiday This was a truly disappointing and regrettable experience during my family's holiday trip to Phu Yen, when we chose to stay at Saigon Phu Yen Hotel on September 1st-2nd, 2026. The first thing that disappointed my family was the hotel's facilities, which were old and dilapidated. Many aspects showed that the hotel had not been invested in or maintained to the advertised standards. In particular, the swimming pool area felt abandoned, completely failing to give the impression of a 4-star hotel. However, what angered me most was the service attitude. From the moment we entered the hotel, from the security guards to the reception staff, my family did not receive the friendliness and professionalism that a 4-star hotel should have. In particular, the way a female receptionist communicated was truly confusing and disappointing. Her manner of speaking to guests was harsh, impolite, and disrespectful. I won't use harsher words, but her behavior and communication with customers were truly inappropriate for a professional service environment. Upon arrival, the requirement to pay in advance also made my family feel unwelcome. Furthermore, the hotel's food was disappointing. The quality of the dishes didn't match the price, while the overall cost was quite high compared to what customers received. My family traveled during the holiday hoping for a fun, relaxing time and beautiful memories. Unfortunately, this experience turned into one of the things that spoiled our entire trip. I really have a question: If a hotel is advertised and rated 4 stars but has dilapidated facilities, unprofessional service, and poor customer service, what criteria are used to evaluate its 4-star rating?

The exterior of the hotel looks very old, it hasn't been renovated in a long time. The interior is decent, but overall the hotel looks like it hasn't been renovated in ages, a waste considering its rather good location in Phu Yen.

The hotel is quite old, with many outdated furnishings. The bathroom sinks are broken and drain very slowly. The breakfast buffet wasn't very good. The swimming pool is old and small. The grounds are not well-maintained. The rooms are spacious and have sea views. It's close to the city center and the beach. Convenient for getting around.

With a 4-star rating, the room quality is indeed not up to par. The price is acceptable. The location is good. My suggestion for the hotel is to address the odors in the bathrooms and bedding, as upon entering, the bedrooms and bathrooms smell musty and damp. The grout is black and moldy, and the floors are stained yellow. These issues negatively impact the customer experience, as cleanliness is the top priority when choosing a place to stay.

I have had a great day in this hotel. It is so great place to stay. The hotel is near the center, beside the river and convinces to go for dinner or lunch. But it's restaurant is so old and a little but dirty. The swimming pool is so small and it is not really beautiful any more. I saw a lot of bricks there. I think they are rebuilding some places. And hope that is growing better.

I booked 2 rooms for 1 night for myself and my parents. While the room itself was fairly clean, the toilet was not at all !! Someone used the toilet and peed all over the place that left the toilet seat covered with urine :((((. I immediately reported the issue to the Reception then went out for dinner. Upon my return, I realize they only cleaned the outer half of the toilet seat... yep, the inner half was still covered with urine ! So, I had to clean the da** toilet seat myself. Not happy with my stay at all !!
