A stunning island, we had a very relaxing 3 days there with our teenage children. The rooms were clean, spacious and pretty good. No AC so it did get a little hot at night but manageable. Lots to do with various water sports options and gear to hire. All the staff are very friendly and helpful our daughters had their 16th birthday on the island and the staff made them a birthday cake. Meals were good, variety and even catered very well for me as a vegetarian

Awesome place to relax like Robinson Crusoe , very beautiful , great staff a + , food a+ to much food sometimes and was restaurant quality, awesome wildlife , butterflies nearly every step of the way, on the walks we did around the island. The owner is trying to bring back the reef and island back to it's former glory, we appaulled him for this. we loved this place no noise , no traffic a perfect place to unwind and was a totally relaxing holiday. very romantic for couples . meet some fellow travellers who will be friends for life now. loved it all .The only bad point was leaving. My wife and I can't say enough good things about our stay on the island . a highlight of our trip to Vietnam for sure . we miss you already, Kind regards Andrew and Sara Goodman.

We stayed here 2 nights and it was one of the highlights of our trip at Nha Trang. Transport there costs $20USD per person each way. There's no other choice. Costs us $80USD from Nha Trang City to the island and back. The hotel is very eco. The hut we stayed at is made of bamboo and wood. There are basic and clean toilet. There is no air conditioning or hot water. Amenities are old but is in working condition. Be careful there is a lot of bugs and ants. They give you the buggie net so make sure you use that. The beach was like those heavenly made ones. The water is so clear you can see your toes and many fishes swimming. The fishes arent afraid of people they will swim near you. Theres so many sea urchins near the rocks and they hurt so be aware. Rent the gears and kayak for about $25 USD half day. You can also walk around the island but theres so much rubbish around its not so nice. There's good view though. There's a bar near the beach. The drinks are nice and reasonably priced. There's only 1 option for food. You have to pay about $700000 VND for 2 person (14USD) per meal. It is very expensive for Viet Nam price. We had meals better for 400000VND at a different island. The food is of good portion and variety but is poor value. Food is set menu and some of the food didnt agree with my taste buds. We hope the food quality will improve. We're glad we stayed at Whale Island. It was over all a lovely experience

things not mentioned on Hotels.com 1. Yes there is a restaurant but you can not order food and there is no menu. You eat what the cook prepares and when the cook says so. If you are hungry any other time of day - too bad . If you don’t like what is prepared- too bad. They tried their best to accommodate our food needs. 2. The rooms say amenities - no shampoo, no shower gel, no razors, tooth brushes , water etc bring everything , nothing is included but a towel. 3. There is no ac . There is a ceil dan biut he second night we had to ask for a fan bec it was too hot to sleep 4. No internet in the rooms, no TV , no games, nothing at night ( bring a book) Health and safety There is no fire extinguisher in the wooden huts and no phone to call in case of emergency - no way to contact anyone at reception. There is no clean water in the rooms, to drink or brush your teeth. The paths at night are pitch black - bring a flash light. There are no real windows or door so prepare to be eaten alive , bring bug spray The island is beautiful but I think more honest information would have helped us prepare for our stay and hopefully this will help others

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Whale Island. We stayed in the standard bungalow which was fine for us once we got used to the cold water showers. We had a problem with our fan which was fixed immediately. My husband found the bed too hard but we've found this in some of the the 4 star hotels we stayed in. We were pleasantly surprised to find the food was some of the best we'd had in Vietnam. It had some wonderful flavours and there was always home made cake at each meal and freshly baked bread at breakfast. We used the island boat to go snorkelling and saw some amazing coral and lots of litte fish. It was however sad to see so much rubbish in the sea.

Beautiful setting, bungalows in great location, only one place to eat/drink on this tiny island so the boss could serve anything and charge anything, but the food was good - a high-quality mix of Vietnamese and foreign fare, and the drinks were strong, delicious and reasonably priced. Only negative is iffy wifi, sometimes slow service, and you have to pay $20 per person to transfer there each way from Nha Trang city, over 2 hours on car and then by boat. These are for trips they're making anyway for supplies and staff. They use solar heaters for the showers, which is a great idea to save energy, but then you have to run the water for 10 minutes just to get lukewarm, which is wasteful and uncomfortable for a resort of this caliber. A little gas would go a long way to get consistent hot water. Service is sometimes a little lazy, but overall the location, quiet environment and elegant setting makes this a very nice place to go.

If you are looking for a heavenly place, surrounded by nature, calm and simple, do not hesitate for a moment. The Whales island resort is a small paradise of about twenty cottages. The staff is very courteous, friendly and pleasant. The cottages are spacious and comfortable, in all simplicity. Note however that there is no air conditioning, they are compensated by fans. If you can't stand the heat at all, you might find it a little difficult. The food is very good, the products are fresh and the portions very generous. The water made available to guests is in a glass bottle - it does our eco-anxiety a lot of good! We could not have dreamed of such a pleasant and soothing stay. Thank you to all the staff for this magical moment 🌷

Lækker lille strand, klart vand, jævn snorkling, fedt at kunne leje SUP, kajak mm. Vores 3 overnatninger var ALT for få dage. Skøn lille oase.

It's a very beautiful placed resort - But keep in mind that you're in Nature! We had ants and cockroaches in our room due to holes in the hut - which freaked our kids a bit out. Unfortunately there's also floating trash around in the Water - NOT from the resort, but just coming in by see. The view is magnificent - and I'm not sorry for our stay - the above just took us by surprise. The resort removes as much trash as they can each Morning - and that helps!
