Lovely relaxing spa would benefit from some relaxing piped music, room was spacious comfy big bed and quiet no noise from other residents could be heard. Evening meal "curry night" was excellent value and breakfast was cooked fresh to order would highly recommend.

Stayed here for a treat for our 20th wedding anniversary. Building is very interesting and the stay was great. Food in the restaurant was good (but be warned - the chef obviously likes his chillies judging by my Arrabiata and my wife's King Prawns!) The pool/spa was great - everything you would want and very clean. Would recommend for a relaxing break - go on treat yourself or someone you love.

The room was clean and comfortable. The pool and spa were good but sadly the steam room wasn't working during our 2 day stay but this wasn't a problem. The hotel fully met our expectations and we had a lovely break.

The spa was good, the room was quiet, the staff were very pleasant, a special mention for the waitress from stockton heath warrington who was so friendly. Outside grounds were lovely. I would recommend this hotel, maybe a bit more variation on the evening meal menu

All members of staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The accommodation and facilities were in a very good condition though our room was in need of upgrading to match that of other rooms. Would have liked to have seen a working safe and a fridge in the room. Spa facilities were excellent as were the dining options with no shortage of food on offer. We had a three night stay and would have gladly stayed longer had we been able to. Will definitely return and recommend this establishment for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing break.

The hotel is beautiful but it’s evident that it’s being run on a low budget. The spa facilities are great. The communal areas such as the toilets were filthy. Staff rarely offered a greeting. The check-in process was terrible and set the tone for the rest of the stay. The breakfast experience was positive with friendly staff. The hotel has potential to be a gem but poor staff and lack of cleanliness in areas really let it down

Totally different premises to when we stayed in 2022. So glad a buyer was found for the premises. Just hope our late departure from our room each day didn't interfere with S4C's production plans.

Lovely hotel, not far from Anglesey Race track. Some rooms could use some TLC. Service was lightly poor as everything I wanted on the Menu was sold out. Swimming pool was cold, but hot tub was relaxing. Was able to order a early breakfast.

This hotel is a beautiful old building in a lovely rural setting with some great original features. However we were somewhat disappointed with the cleanliness of this hotel. It is clear they are going through a slow renovation process, with a clear difference in quality between areas. This hotel is a beautiful old building in a lovely rural setting with some great original features. But sadly on arrival our room was not to the cleanliness we’d expect for a 4 star hotel at £150 a night. Dirt on the mirrors, mould throughout the shower, broken toilet seat and hairs all left in the bathroom. We requested a room change due to the state of the rooms cleanliness and sadly no options were available, but more disappointingly no one came to rectify this issue that day or any further days of our 4 night stay. The room was not cleaned at all during our stay, just a daily top up of tea/coffee. Issues with cleanliness and attention to detail is sadly the fact for the rest of the hotel with the spa feeling tired and outdated and again dirty, glasses lipstick stained and abandoned communal rooms dusty with rubbish left lying around. However the staff throughout were lovely and helpful and the breakfast had a good variety of options and catered to the individual needs. With some improved attention to detail, updating and higher standards of cleaning this has the potential to be a wonderful stay but sadly due to the issues it was not worth the price.

When entering the room we were allocated, I noticed that the carpet hadn't been hoovered properly and the floor and skirting boards behind the sink and toilet were dirty. There were no bathrobes or toiletries in the bathroom and there was water on the floor, which turned out to be a leak coming from under the toilet basin. We were told that they would get someone to fix it asap, but nobody arrived during the period of our stay. Apart from the first day we arrived, the Clock Tower Wine bar & Cafe was closed. No staff available and apparently no chef, so we could only get something to eat in the Italian restaurant for lunch and for our evening meal. The food was average. Glasses were not collected or tables wiped in the library from Saturday night for the rest of our stay. There was also a large stain on the floor outside the library which wasn't cleaned until Tuesday morning. There was no receptionist on duty after Saturday and there didn't appear to be anyone in charge of what appeared to be quite young staff, so nobody to discuss our concerns with. For a 4* hotel my husband and I were very disappointed. It was not what we expected.
