This camp is excellent facilities and service wise and the provides incredible value for the price. There's tons of wildlife just at the camp during the day with elephants, gazelles, bucks, monkeys, hippos nearby, and lions roaring in the distance at night. The tent I stayed is right in front of the river with plenty of animals. The bathroom is well equipped and bed is comfortable. Hot water is available 24/7 which isn't always the case in Zambia because of frequent power cuts. The only negative is the lack of air conditioning since it does get to about 100F in October during the day and that does make it hard to sleep in the early evenings. The restaurant serves some amazing food and they have rotating daily specials in case you stay a while and eat through their standard menu. The food is well priced with entrees about $10-20 and wine and beer $3-5. They take your orders ahead of time so they can prepare the meals during your safari to be served right when you arrive back at camp. The meal service is very attentive and courses are brought out in a timely but uncrushed manner. The game drive is also excellent and very fairly priced. Kenneth had very deep knowledge of many species of birds, cats, dogs, etc. and tailed each drive to what we want to see. I also did a walking safari with them which was more of a nature walk tracking animal paw prints and droppings. The pool and lounging areas are well equipped but nothing overly lavish. Overall great value for the money.

⸻ A magical place full of heart, respect, and wilderness – Flatdogs Camp From the very first moment, our stay at Flatdogs Camp was something truly special. This camp is far more than just a safari lodge – it’s a place filled with soul, a deep connection to nature, and genuine humanity. What makes Flatdogs so extraordinary is the people who give this place its spirit and warmth: Kenedy, calm and deeply rooted in the natural world, exudes a quiet reverence for the bush – a truly grounding presence. Lydia, always elegant and attentive, with an eye for detail and a gentle grace that brought a unique charm to every day. Caroline, caring, welcoming, and full of positive energy – she made us feel completely seen and cared for. Job, our waiter, was simply wonderful – professional, kind, and full of character, always there with a smile and perfect timing. Royce, still in guide training, stood out with her beautiful, radiant smile and her heartfelt enthusiasm – a truly inspiring young woman. And Rosemarie, so lovely and warm – she quietly enriched our stay with her gentle and kind nature. What really touched us is that every single member of the staff, even those not named here, was genuinely kind, attentive, and passionate about what they do. You can feel the deep respect among the team and from management, not just toward the guests but toward one another. Right in front of our tent, at the dry waterhole, stood a huge elephant, peaceful and majestic – an unforgettable moment.

I think south Luanga has become my favourite park for safaris in Africa and it is certainly best place to see leopards. Flat dogs is a great camp, just outside the park. Management, staff, and guides are all first rate and extremely friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you have a Memorable safari. A special shout out to my guide Joffrey. The food is really excellent too. They have a tea before the afternoon Safari which about once a week even includes English scones with cream and jam. You can stay here on a full safari full board basis or if you want to take a day off in the middle of your Safari And relax and save a bit of money, you can just rent a tent for a night. This is my second trip and I will definitely go back. Next time I will maybe try coming in through Malawi. The pro flight from Lusaka return is someone expensive and a although lusaka is a very safe city it’s not really a very interesting one to overnight at.

Flatdogs — you absolutely blew me away. This was so far above anything we've ever experienced before, and I truly cannot recommend this place more. The airport pickup/dropoff was timely and easy. Staff was so kind. Once at camp, we stayed in one of their tent rooms, which was beyond incredible — a huge comfy bed with mosquito netting, drinkable water, a fan, a nice shower/bathroom area, etc. All night we heard hippos walking around and during the day, elephants explored camp, all of which was mind-blowingly cool! The food was 5-star. Truly some of the best meals we've ever eaten. The menu had many excellent options for vegetarians, gluten-free, on a diet, etc. and the staff remembered our drink orders/dietary preferences which was kind! And the safaris — WOW. I couldn't believe the number of animals we saw, and how much information our guides knew. I did notice we went off-road at the park a fair amount, something I didn't love as it erodes this beautiful area, but every safari car from every camp seemed to be doing that. Still, these guides have to be some of the best in the area, as they were spotting chameleons in the dark, were the first to get to the scene when something was happening with animals, etc. I also chose Flatdogs because of their partnerships with conservative groups and community-building projects — out of all the camps I researched, they seemed to be doing a lot to make a difference! Truly, I can't recommend this spot enough. Hope to be back soon!!

Preis-Leistung stimmt. Wir würden jeder Zeit wiederkommen- sehr empfehlenswert!
