As a 74-year-old who no longer participates in rides, etc., I find it disappointing that I have to pay such an exorbitant entry fee. After all, all we elderly want to do is watch our grandchildren and nieces and nephews enjoy their day. We only want to go along for their sake. They come to the Gold Coast in part to see their elderly relatives, but we are restricted to go to Sea World, etc., due to the cost. As a couple and pensioners, all the parks should consider offering a fee that is reasonably priced and say excludes rides (making it cheaper). We will still be spending money on concessions and possibly at the gift store, thus providing you with some income. We, however, don't usually attend due to the cost. Pensioners or even just seniors only attend to be with their family (children) members. If a family comes to the coast, it may only be for four or five days, and if they attend four theme parks and the elderly cannot afford to go, we don't get to see them enough. I believe the parks should offer pensioners (at least) a minimal entry fee (say $20 per person); you will probably get that back from concession sales.
If other pensioners are like us, they might attend say 2 parks per family visit, but at the moment, we don't bother simply because we can't afford such luxuries, which is a pity as we love our children very much.
We suggest you offer $20 entry fees for age pensioners (min age say 70) who are local residents (could be anyone within a 50 km radius) to enjoy the company of our visiting children in our twilight years. We understand we can't compete with the parks for their company whilst they are visiting but would love to see them enjoying themselves and happily telling us about the fun they are having.
Personally, I think this would be a win-win for your company and we the pensioners, not to mention the PR for your company. which would be a shame.
Thank you for at least reading my thoughts; if anyone has, I hope you consider favourably.
