My visit to the Galeri Nasional Indonesia was absolutely fantastic and a highlight of my trip. The overall experience was excellent, from the well-maintained premises to the incredible exhibitions. I was particularly impressed with the "Nyala" exhibition, which commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Diponegoro War. The way they presented the history and context was truly compelling. The star of the show, of course, was seeing the authentic "The Arrest of Prince Diponegoro" by Raden Saleh. To see this masterpiece up close and in person was an unforgettable moment. It's so much more powerful in real life, and the accompanying information really helped to appreciate the artist's unique perspective. Beyond the exhibitions, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They were always available to answer questions and provided a welcoming atmosphere, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The place is clean, spacious, and the layout makes it easy to navigate and fully appreciate all the artwork on display. I highly recommend Galeri Nasional Indonesia to anyone interested in Indonesian art, history, or simply looking for a beautiful and enriching experience in Jakarta. It's a must-visit destination!

A visit to the National Gallery was truly enjoyable! The ticket exchange process was quick and organized, so there was no need to wait in long lines. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The National Gallery has undergone significant changes. The last time I visited, there were only a few paintings and sculptures, but now there are many more, and the atmosphere is truly captivating. Staff are present in every exhibition space to supervise us and are very friendly.

This museum is worth every step. Definitely recommend! The staff is also very friendly and kind. There are many activities you can do here <3

It's so much fun, I can sometimes come here twice a week because it's so cool that it can make your tiredness disappear by just healing here.

The whole experience was nice, and you should visit on weekdays to avoid crowds because it was so nice when there's not so many people visiting there.

Overall, it was quite good. It was just a little annoying when the guide from another group of visitors used a microphone.

The staff are nice, the paintings are really nice, but because there are so many people taking photos, we can't really enjoy it.

Finally it is open. Last year I went there and there is nothing there. The collections in the main building are nice, but it can be better in my opinion. Feel annoyed a little bit because people there just to make content, taking picture and video of themselves instead of enjoying the art, and prevent others who wants to enjoy the art cannot fully experience it. For example they stay in front of some picture for a long time, making video of themselves or taking hundreds pictures of themselves. They don’t even see the art. So sad. The collection of Nyala exhibition is also quite interesting, especially the main painting from Raden Saleh about Diponegoro. It is nice because the signage is explaining the context nicely, make us be able to understand Raden Saleh and his perspective. But again, too many people just standing there to take pictures so cannot enjoy it fully. All in all, it is quite a good excursion in the weekend.

This wasn't my first time as a regular visitor to the National Gallery of Indonesia. After a lengthy renovation for its permanent exhibition, I was stunned. It was truly that cool afterward. It was a pleasant coincidence to return to the same place to coincide with two other ongoing exhibitions. One of the best decisions came on the last day of the Biennale exhibition. God willing, I will be back for another great experience! 😆💜

The entire building has been fully utilized for the exhibition, featuring numerous works that undoubtedly have their own significance. The staff assisting with ticket exchanges were very helpful, the rooms were kept clean, and the staff in each exhibition space were very interactive.
