The room was lovely. Staff were very friendly. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast, which I regret, but it always smelled wonderful. There are many restaurants and coffee shops in easy walking distance. One thing to consider is that the hotel is on a busy street, and if you are not used to sleeping with traffic noises and the sounds of people enjoying nearby pubs, you might want to consider noise-blocking earbuds. I didn't need them but my traveling companion in the next room bought them after the first night. They slept soundly after that.

No plug sockets in the room, we had to unplug the TV to charge our phones. No air con either, only a fan but again no where to plug it in. Hotel was fine for one night but i wont be rushing back there.

I booked this hotel for a staff member. He contacted me this morning to say that there was plaster hanging off the wall. No ceiling light and no plug points near the bed. For what I paid for the room and from the photos on the website I expected much better

The hotel was clearly falling down as it had structural scaffolding inside holding up the building inside and sticking out of the walls in the room which the advertisement did not mention. The walls are cracked and the furniture old and tired. Staff were ok and friendly enough. Beds were clean and comfortable. Amenities liked water worked well.

Had a 7th floor room with a couple really cool views out of the narrow, tall bathroom windows. Great bed, good shower. I’d say ask for the 7th floor! But note the elevator (“lift”) only goes to the 6th, then you have to walk a short flight of stairs, so guests with mobility issues won’t want to be higher than the 6th. Location is amazing - our favourite part of London

From the moment we arrived, the experience felt far below what you’d expect from a Thistle hotel in central London, especially for £160 for one night. We arrived around 13:30 and understood we were early, however after the receptionist checked with a manager, we were told the room “wasn’t ready”. The interaction honestly made us feel as though we were being pushed towards paying the early check-in fee instead, so we left our bags and went into London. When we returned later that evening, check-in became frustratingly chaotic. Despite handing over numbered luggage tags matching each suitcase, we still had to describe every bag before they’d return them. At the same time, the receptionist claimed she couldn’t find our booking, despite the earlier team locating it instantly. What made it worse was repeatedly being asked how to spell my surname whilst she was literally holding my ID. The room itself was genuinely shocking. Tiny, shabby, visibly dirty and covered in dust, stains and marks. We ended up wiping surfaces down ourselves. The TV had no sound, there was only one usable plug socket, and none by the bedside. Looking outside, there was rubbish and McDonald’s waste scattered below. Even breakfast ended awkwardly when we were questioned as to why there were two guests, despite my Hotels.com confirmation clearly stating a twin room for two people. Almost every interaction felt uncomfortable, disorganised or below standard. This experience was nowhere near what I expected

The central location is excellent but breakfast is an expensive additional cost and my hotel room was tired and in need of redecoration. The room was disappointing considering the cost.

Room wasn’t ready at 3, I had to wait around 20 minutes. Room was small but clean, comfortable bed. Location was perfect for British Museum/Euston
