I've stayed here before and thought I knew what I was getting into. Unfortunately, my stay was less than ideal. Housekeeping never came during my two night stay, which was unfortunate. My room was dirty - dirty curtains, stains on the carpet and hair in the bathroom. Was also not impressed to find a plethora of spiders in my room - I think I dispatched 5 total? I mentioned these concerns when checking out - and got a chuckle and a sideye from the individual at the desk. Won't be staying again, which is unfortunate, I'm here monthly.

The 4 Points is my “go to” place in Marin County. Convenient, scenic location on top of a hill in the Terra Linda area of San Rafael. It has a beautiful courtyard & pool area ringed by palm trees and a nice lobby with good hotel ambience. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, but due for an upcoming refresh. I recommend that you get an inward-facing room (even-numbered) because the noise from the freeway is significant in the outward-facing rooms. It has ample free parking. A shopping center with Starbucks, Safeway, Walgreens, and restaurants is a short walk or drive down the hill.

I had to park far from front door, and it was dark in the back. It appeared that the hotel lets various businesses use their parking for vehicles at night? Did not appear to be hotel guests.

Wonderful staff, amenities, and great location for access to hiking, biking, SF, Sonoma, and Marin. Perfect for our stay with our dogger! Beautiful views too.

The room I was assigned had a loud sound that would have interfered with my sleep. I went to the front desk and they were very kind and helpful and upgraded my room at no extra cost to much quieter area of the hotel.

Being stuck in what felt like the basement (floor 0) was a bit of a drag, furniture was chipped, view was terrible but the pool area and lobby are nice. The buffet breakfast costs a fortune and is really terrible but other than that the hotel is nice enough.

Can’t go wrong staying here. Always appreciate the staff’s attention!
