We stayed here with our 10-year-old grandson for a city break. They upgraded us to a suite, which was very spacious and made life a lot easier for us. Thank you. The service was excellent from the reception through to the bar staff and the waiters. All were pleasant and friendly. I guess some would say the hotel is 'dated' but I prefer to think of it as classical, a step back in time. I would certainly stay here again.

Nice place and lots of places to get to by walking.

We arrived at approximately 12 pm from the cruise ship Scenic. The room was ready but we were required to pay an early check in if we wanted to use the room or wait in the lobby until 3 pm. The room was ready why not advise you can go up now if you wish. The bathroom had hair particles on the floor in the corner. I woke up tp find a spider in my shoe which I disposed of and left on a note pad on the bedside table. We intended to dine in for the two nights stay but there was no menu in the room to look at, so I had to take a photo of the downstairs menu so we could decide what was available. No coffee satchels in the room only tea. The dark curtain did not close to block out the afternoon sunlight. It was only for decoration to cover the corner of the room. This is the singular most unfriendly hotel staff we have encountered in decades of travel. The check in counter especially. I never write a review unless it’s warranted. Almost to the point they were downright mean and noticed it with other hotel clientele. Terrible. Last thing you want to encounter after long flights and hours of travel. Not one friendly face.

Convenient and clean accommodation. Given a quiet room with a bath which was greatly appreciated

Great location hotel.

The grand old atmospheric hotel is inevitably a bit jaded after 100 years but right on top of the Metro and easily walkable to most attractions, restaurants and bars and the cafe is an attraction in itself.

Property is lovely with a modern annex and traditional. Issue is noise level in this part of Budapest. Police and high powered bikes and cars all night long.

An old hotel that has seen better days. We slept in the wing with renovated rooms which were modern and clean. But the level of outside noise was astonishing. Restaurant is old and tired decor makes you not want to eat. Staff was very professional and polite

Love the hotel very nice and loved the look of the hotel very clean and had complementary water which was needed as it was 30° outside always had clean towels and the hotel always helped with getting taxis etc and often got the taxi men to come into the hotel to take us to the car which was something I’ve never experienced

Love this hotel. I stay here every time I visit Budapest because of the location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms.

A very nice hotel - it's old in style but it's very clean and comfortable. Reception was very helpful and polite when we had an enquiry. It's a perfect place to stay for a few nights (we stayed for three nights). We caught the bus from the airport and it dropped us one minute away from the hotel, and there are many transport links nearby. I would definitely stay there again.

Property was within walking distance to most places for interest. I found some of the staff, quite abrupt and not going to help. Most of them were happy to oblige. I felt that a cleaners, in my room, didn’t do a terrific amount. only clean the sink. I left. My room very tidy and slightly made my bed. When the cleaners came in, my bed was the same as I left it. The breakfast was good, a lot of choice for breakfast. staff was keeping on top of filling all of the food up. Lots of choices. The best time to go was 8 o’clock in the morning. After that time it was too busy. You had to queue up for the coffee machine.

Brilliant place. I had a huge room, clean with a super comfortable bed, in traditional style with lovely character. The staff were helpful. The lobby and shared areas of the hotel are lovely. The cafe is simply beautiful. The hotel is literally across the street from the bus stop from the airport, and right by a metro station too. It couldn’t be easier to find. And to top it all off, the price was incredibly reasonable. Honestly I loved it here and wouldn’t hesitate to come again.
