Stockholms best hotel, Robert Jobeus

The breakfast menu was limited and expensive so we skipped it. Room service options end pretty early. The rooms are small and narrow. The elevator is super small (typical European). Since the hotel is old it has very traditional authentic amenities in a regal sense but was not impressive. Our room wasn't the cleanest but it was comfy for a few days. Perfect location just steps from everything. That made up for it.

This was honestly one of the best stays of our lives. Not because it was the fanciest or newest, it was certainly aged, but with timeless class and drenched in charm, but because everything was just so damn lovely. The staff clearly love working there and it shows through their exemplary service. There is no doubt that everyone’s pleasant demeanor is authentic. The food is fantastic. The bed was heavenly. And the views were wonderful. The most romantic getaway that we have had in a long time. When we return to Stockholm, there is only one place to stay. Bravo to management for creating such an exquisite experience.

The entire staff was very helpful and friendly at all times. The location was great.While kept well, the physical plant is showing its age. The elevator system needs modernization. Steps in rooms can be a hazard for older people. Buffet breakfast quite good.

Wonderful staff, beautiful historic building, great location. However, issues with my room (broken lamp, sconces not working, cold showers) and street noise even in upper level rooms. It was a nice stay overall, but a bit overpriced for the issues I experienced. It didn’t quite meet my expectations for quality.

Love the location and the restaurant. Beautiful building. Shops nearby. Gym was not reachable by elevator, problematic for those who can’t climb stairs (I can’t). Room was a little musty and small. Unfortunately no upgrades were available.

So when you charge prices that are only somewhat below high end hotels like the Grand one expects above average levels. The hotel lift only handled 5 people max. Qute but not practical Breakfast selection is limited and service was spotty. On one day our room was being cleaned at 5 pm Overall disappointing stay.

Hotel Diplomat remains one of the best locations in Stockholm. The staff could not be more accommodating or helpful in every way. I love staying here. However, the hotel is in need of a remodel - some wear and tear that is starting to come through in the entire experience.

Terrible experience! Not what I expected from a 5 star hotel. There is no AC in the rooms!!! The hotel is old, some would say charming, I say old, it has one single elevator that you have to say a small prayer every time you board. I stayed at this hotel because I wanted water front views and such rooms are spacious, but if you visit in the summer think twice as such rooms get so much light, that you have to close the blinds as there is no AC in the room and it gets uncomfortably warm. And there lies most of my terrible experience. As soon as we checked in I was given an upgrade in one of the 2 rooms, only to discover that there was a fan in the room, as I tried to work with the AC there seemed to be a malfunction I quickly contacted the front desk who said and I quote “there is no AC in Stockholm” I was quite taken aback, but being my first time in Sweden I thought maybe that was a thing. We slept with the windows open and had to deal with the noice and the 4 AM sunrise, so it was a terrible. We complained again and they said they would work on it. No one ever called or did absolutely anything to make our stay more bearable. They forbade my son from having outside food in the empty hotel terrace bar saying it was the LAW in Stockholm, it’s not by the way. The hotel staff went out of their way to make my son feel uncomfortable and he had to eat the meatballs in the sidewalk. DO NOT STAY HERE, the staff is rude and just lie to guests to make excuses for shortcomings.

Carpet has stains
