When we got there they made us put down $150 fee in case we messed up the room. This was a birthday gift and I didn’t have a credit card so my partner had to pay for it. We get to the room and it’s run down, not super updated. There was a crack in one of the walls that made it look like it wasn’t super supported. For the amount I paid for it I would expect free breakfast but they didn’t have one, it came with a restaurant on site that was expensive. They don’t have free parking and just in general the space feels like a bad hotel trying to be masked with slightly fancy things. You can tell that they only clean high touch places because the walls had food and random liquids on them from past stays and the entire room was just dusty. The sheets were scratchy and uncomfortable, all and all it just wasn’t a great stay. I also had an allergic reaction and ended up spending most of my time in the er and not in the hotel room. They refused to refund or at least reduce the cost of my stay despite proof and I didn’t even finish out the last night of my stay there because I thought it was something in the room I was allergic to (something I’m trying to actively figure out). There are many nicer hotels around, I’d choose one of those. I don’t like this place and will never set foot in it again.

Great accommodations, service and so-so food taste in the bar/restaurant. Beer choicea were fine. I come here to stay when I'm in Ottawa almost all the time. Excellent staff at the front desk, great showers and comfortable beds. I stayed about 4 days this time. Probably could have picked a bigger room with a better view but it's not an issue for me on this trip. Ie. Cold and ice everywhere. Wanted to mention that Nikita at the front test printed out documents for my meeting and it was well appreciated. What-a-boss. See you again Embassy, next time I come to town

Stayed here a few months ago for work. Great location situated just one block from Elgin St. The Executive King Suite was decently spacious and clean but my stay unfortunately had a couple of problems: 1. The room was right in front of the elevator. I requested a room away from the elevator but only once I got there was I told that this request is not possible. I constantly heard noises from the hallway and of course of people coming and going from the elevator. 2. Was not notified that there would be VERY loud construction happening during my stay. It sounded like it was coming from upstairs (I was on the top floor, the 10th). Constant hammering and drilling noises for multiple hours WHILE I was trying to work. Could not focus at all. If I had known there would be construction happening and that my request for a room away from the elevator would not be possible, I would have never stayed here. Did not want to try and find another hotel at the last minute (not realistic) so I stayed and paid. After my stay I sent an email outlining the above and did not receive any response.

We stayed here for 5 days & were pleased with the property. Yes, it’s a bit older & not super luxury, but the unit was clean & comfortable and worked well for two of us working during the day. There was a desk and a kitchen table so enough flat surfaces for 2 of us which was important. The staff and service were excellent. Any small issues we had were dealt with immediately & with a smile. The location is fantastic. We will definitely stay here again.

We came to Ottawa with the family for Winterlude (4 days / 3 nights). The hotel on the outside looks a bit older but walk inside and you see the place has been recently renovated. For the price it isn't bad. We were looking for hotels that have a working kitchen and not priced too expensive, this was the right fit for us. Byward market and museums were within driving distance (less than 20 mins drive). The Rideau canal if you are skating was just a 10 mins walk away. They do have a small gym (treadmill and weights which I used). They do have a sauna but I didn't use that. They have a restaurant on site but you have to pay. The prices seem to be on the pricier end but it doesn't matter because we got a kitchen. As for buying groceries, there is a Dollarama nearby and the next closest groceries is Farm Boy (higher end grocery store). The other downside to my stay is they didn't have all the utensils for us. Our unit was missing forks and nothing to wash dishes with. Overall, not bad stay, I will consider this place again.
