The hotel was very well kept. There's an error in the listing because we were charged $10/day for parking when the listing said self parking was free. The outdoor patios and amenities were closed because of a remodel. We totally understand bringing things to date but a heads up would of been nice. The hotel has connecting rooms; the problem with them was that there is no noise insulation between the doors (big gaps all around) so we did not enjoy the rowdy neighbors chatting and playing music until late at night. Not sure if we would stay here again.

Nice place to stay—would return! A short drive to Newport, so best for those who are okay with (or prefer) not being right in the middle of everything. The room was clean and comfortable, and there are some cool seating areas outside of the lobby. The front desk staff was very warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The curb appeal is not great and had us second guessing our booking, but the inside is a completely different story, and I got the impression the exterior is being renovated soon—don't let it scare you off! My only complaint is that the breakfast was subpar for a paid breakfast and the restaurant staff weren't great. The server wasn't very attentive and the staff stood around chatting about their favorite shots and cocktails the whole time we ate. The kitchen staff was playing music loudly that clashed with the music playing through the restaurant speakers. So definitely stay at the hotel but don't do the breakfast package—just go out for breakfast and you'll have a great stay!

This was our first time in Newport and our stay at The Pell was great. The location was easily accessible. The room was very clean, had a spacious bathroom, we loved the orange sandalwood body wash. It felt like a cute updated studio apartment. The staff was very polite and helped us with directions and recommendations. The gym was very nicely kept up, plenty of equipment. Like almost every hotel, the sheets have that crunchy swish sound and being a lite sleeper, anytime anyone moves I am wide awake. If we are back in Newport again we would definitely stay here again. The outside pool area was being worked on but looks like it'll be very nice.

Nice solid stay for family vacation. Hotel has been updated well. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom huge. Nice soap and shampoo. Staff was super friendly and helpful when we needed anything. Only negatives were they charge $10 a day to park your car. The hotel is not near downtown or anything that should require a $10 a day charge for parking. Its a rural hotel not some urban area where parking is limited. Only other issue is we were on first floor and you can hear the people above you at times. It was only bad when some children were running around and bouncing a ball. Was annoying when they were doing it at 10:30 at night. But overall, this is a nice stay. Dont let the negatives outweigh the positives

Hotel was very nice and updated finishes. Took off one star bc our room did not have black out curtains making it very bright in the morning, also there is construction that started before 8 am on a Saturday right outside our window

Our stay at The Pell was very pleasant. The hotel was clean, quiet, and had an updated feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Where The Pell lost points: 1. Our booking through hotels.com said on-site parking was included and free. But when we arrived, they said there is a $10 parking fee per night. I'm not sure if the disconnect is on the hotels.com side or the Hyatt side. The Hyatt web site shows there is a $10 fee that started May 1. But, staff waived the fee when I showed the info from hotels.com. Bottom line: get your info in sync. 2. Breakfast is not included — and that is OK. I paid a small add-on charge for what was advertised on hotels.com as "breakfast buffet available." However, there was no buffet. Ordering was off a limited menu in the hotel restaurant with a provided voucher. The food was fine and our waitress was very pleasant, but I prefer a buffet. It's not that I want to heap my plate with as much food as possible... it's about variety. I want some eggs for protein AND I want some fruit and yogurt. Maybe later in the season (we visited pre-memorial Day) they do have a buffet, but the bottom line is: get your info in sync with hotels.com. 3. On our second day there was a hotel-wide water shutdown between 10am and 1pm for annual maintenance. Luckily, this did not affect us because we were out and about during that time, but... what if?

This place is amazing!!! Food (flat iron steak & burger) was delish!! Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room was exceptionally clean!!! We had a King room which has a small table for 2. Front desk had complimentary water with lemon, wonderful lounge area and the bar/restaurant was off the lobby. The room had a coffee machine (not sure how to use it, pods were very tiny), but wish they had complementary coffee in the lobby. I would stay here again and would recommend to all who are traveling into Rhode Island!!!
