Very convenient for us being near to family. Car parking was good. Safe provided but no fridge. Breakfast vg. We were there for 2 days and staff just changed the towels for the second day. The used coffee cups were not replaced and beds unmade.

We were very pleased with the Holiday Inn, we had never stayed in a one before, we thought our room was a perfect size for a short stay or for longer, the staff were very helpful and it was very well placed for wherever we wanted to go.

Helpful, friendly, professional staff. Good breakfast (but surprisingly no vegetarian sausages). Very convenient bus service into York close by. Quiet location. However bathroom VERY small (room 122). Booked a walk-in shower but actually had a six inch step up to it and no grab rails. Guests obviously using shower controls and screen to aid access as shower screen fixture becoming loose from ceiling. Size of bathroom meant anyone requiring a ‘helping hand’ but not needing fully accessible facilities would struggle and in the event of a fall, assistance extremely difficult. Reported to reception.

Location is great for the racing. Looks abit run down on the outside but good car park space. Food was nice and rooms were clean. Staff were lovely but check in was abit slow.

Great stay for the horse racing. Check in was abit slow. Car park is a good size (round the back). Rooms are fine and clean. Hotel looks abit grubby on the outside but nice inside. Plenty towels bed was comfortable. Food is lovely but tables could get cleared and cleaned more regularly. Air con in the rooms is pretty poor.

Rooms were basic but clean. Bathroom was nice in appearance with lovely products supplied but is small. Bar/Restaurant for evening food and breakfast was very clean, comfortable and tasty. Air-conditioning in room needs upgrading as very slow or not working, no complimentary biscuits on drinks tray, no mini bar and more plug socket for phone charging need nearer the bed. Hotel manager did rectify issues that cropped up in a swift and timely manner.

My husband and I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the breakfast is excellent. The only minor downside is that the hotel is a little far from the city centre. However, this wasn’t a major issue because there is a bus stop nearby, making it easy to get around. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

J’ai réservé cet hôtel pour l’air climatisé. Mais elle est seulement disponible à la réception et au restaurant. La chambre était très chaude.(suite à une canicule) Mais les employés nous ont prêté des ventilateurs. Parking facile. Le déjeuner est très bien. Avec option à 10£ et à 16 £. 16£ pour option repas chaud.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is good with good parking. Rooms are clean and well equiped. Step up into walking shower - much better than shower/bath combination. Rooms are a good size although they need a refresh and maintenance. Rooms doors locks look like theyve recently been changed - doors need repainting - not a goid first impression. Apart from maintenance thiss is a warm and friendly hotel.

A good stay in a hotel that is well positioned for a visit to York, located adjacent to the horse racing course. Excellent, well-cooked breakfast. Downsides of the stay were a top floor room that was inordinately hot and the air-conditioning couldn't cope with reducing the temperature, plus the greeting at check-in was rather indifferent and lacked any sincere welcome.

I stayed for 4 nights at the Holiday Inn in York. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and was checked in quickly. As I don't use lifts, the receptionist arranged for my suitcase to be taken up to my room. My room, on the 2nd floor, was big and looked very clean. There was a double bed, 2 seater sofa, TV, plenty of hanging space but only 5 hangers, and tea/coffee making facilities. Whilst the bathroom was quite small it had everything you could want (shower only, no bath). There was plenty of dispensers for soap, shower gel and hand wash and plenty of lovely white towels. Breakfast was included in the cost but I don't have breakfast so cannot comment on this. I did, however, have an evening meal which was lovely. There was plenty of parking on site but the car park at the back has a few pot holes. There is easy access from the hotel to York by either bus or walking. There is also a bus stop nearby for buses to Leeds. I enjoyed my stay and am already looking forward to my next visit.

The hotel is quite dated in some communal areas, but generally clean. Stayed in a standard twin room (Room 216). The bathroom was far too small requiring you step to the side of the toilet to easily close the door. The shower has a high step up into it, which clearly is an ongoing issue as there is a sign warning guests to take extra care getting in and out. The buffet breakfast is everything you need, but the layout creates a problem in some places, especially where the tea and coffee machine is located, as this is the entrance to the food area and gets clogged in busy periods, so would benefit being moved elsewhere.

The hotel reception looked up to date and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, upon arriving to our 'family' room, there were only 2 mugs (not 4), 3 sets of towels (not 4) and there was a massive wine stain on the carpet. How anyone could miss this and still give the room to a family is shocking. I have to say when I showed reception, they asked if I wanted to change rooms but as we were only staying overnight there was no point. They also added to the mugs and towels happily but I'm disappointed it wasn't already considered. They knew a family was booked in as the sofa bed was made up. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant which was really nice, we were impressed with the food and the children were well looked after, and on top of that 'kids ate free' which was a lovely surprise!
