The front desk staff were great — friendly, welcoming, and helpful. No complaints there. However, I booked a City View room specifically for the view, which was a big part of why I chose this hotel. The room I got (Room 306) had no city view at all — it faced the other side of the building with a wall right outside the window. It felt misleading and disappointing. On top of that, the shower design in the washroom wasn’t practical. The door didn’t block water properly at the bottom, so water leaked out and soaked the floor towel and my slippers that I’d left just outside the shower. Overall, it didn’t match what was advertised, and I left feeling like I didn’t get what I paid for. I hope the hotel looks into this and makes sure guests actually receive the room type they book.

Great location, nice property

Fantastic hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms with great temperature control and amenities. Shoutout to the staff for helping me with keeping a bouquet of flowers cool in a fridge they had until I needed them. As well as setting aside a piece of clothing I forgot in the room so I could return and retrieve them.

We chose this hotel for a concert and it turned out the concert was less than 2 blocks away. Everything you need is within 3 blocks. Wonderful area and easy to get there.

The Walper is a gem in downtown Kitchener! From the staff to the rooms to the awesome good, our weekend hosting a bridal shower at the Walper was nothing less than outstanding!

Could not sleep due to very loud music being played at a wedding reception at the hotel until 1 am. very loud foot steps from the floor above. And then at 6am piano music was being played in the lobby, clearly audible in our room on the 3rd. floor.

Nice personnel. Very clean, chic, cozy, comfortable and decently equipped room. Perfect for a short stay.

The king room is very large and found it very clean. The hotel bar is well stocked. Service overall is friendly and helpful.

This is our second time staying the Walper Hotel. We came back because we had a great first stay. Unfortunately, we weren't as lucky this time. The room we were given was quite small, the bathroom was rusty and the blinds did not cover the entire windows so it was extremely bight so we were unable to sleep. Also, the image on the tv kept glitching so we couldn't even watch anything. For the price, it differently was not worth it this time around.
