Excellently located to the immediate east of Rue St Catherine's main shopping area and immediately across the road from Place De Arts which given we were there for 5 days during the Jazz Festival in late June/early July means you are right in the heart of the action. Old Montreal is a reasonably short walk away via a relatively easy route over the freeway 'canyon' as is the Latin Quarter and Gay Village area if you carry on walking up Rue St Catherine Est - which is probably 20 minutes but to reach the latter you DO have to walk through some downtrodden looking surroundings with lots of vagrancy and people walking around that clearly have severe mental health issues...it can be intimidating especially as some of them make their way to the central part of town. "Edgy" would be the best way to describe it. As for the hotel itself there wasn't a lot to fault. It's all bog standard DoubleTree Hilton. Front desk reception were very helpful in keeping my booking alive when I was stuck 3000 miles away in the UK and my flight was cancelled, and they sorted it out but we had little need to contact them once we were there. It did feel a little bit impersonal to be honest as nobody in the front desk lobby area greeted us at all when we walked past and check out was a very "basic thank you and good-bye" - the guys running the taxi rank downstairs were more chatty..... Room was very clean and spacious with comfortable bed and a very hot walk-in shower. The hotel is part of the giant Complexe Dejardins shopping/office complex so the big mall and food court on the lower floors so there is plenty to keep you entertained. One annoying thing is you need two elevator rides to get to your room. One to get from the car park/drop off area/entrance to the lobby and another to get to your room floor. And the elevators are always busy!!! But overall this was an excellent base whilst visiting Montreal.

The hotel is in a great location, but for the price, we were expecting a better stay. The rooms were clean, but a bit dated, however the bathroom had a terrible sliding door that wouldn’t lock, and no fan. There was also mold on the ceiling, which we were surprised to see at a higher end hotel like this one. The concierge was great, and the bed was comfortable and the towels were all nice and clean. The cleaning service people were also very good. The first room we were given had a problem, and we were switched to a different room without any issue at all. The one thing that we didn’t like was that the hotel was pre-booked at a set fee, but when it came time to pay, the price had increased, and we were told it was because the hotel had implemented additional fees since we had made the initial booking. While I understand that a hotel can add on fees, they should honour the price that was confirmed when the room was initially booked, and a confirmation email had been sent with the room pricing. In the end, an adjustment was made and we got a refund, but this sort of issue shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Check your final bill carefully to make sure that you’re paying the price that you originally agreed to pay.

Stayed here in August 2026 and had a wonderful experience! Front desk staff were friendly during check-in, offering a complimentary cookie. Room service staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and our room was stocked with all necessities. And the breakfast buffet crew - phenomenal; special thank you to Mayra, Youssef, Elies, and Jose for working as a team to accommodate a gluten free breakfast each day of our stay. The supervisor, Youssef, verified which items were safe for someone with celiac disease and had the kitchen prepare a separate meal each morning free from cross contamination. They even had gluten free bread and a dedicated toaster (see photo) WOW! I would definitely recommend this DoubleTree for someone with dietary restrictions looking for a stress free stay. Location is great if you’re looking to explore Old Montreal as it’s only about a 20 minute walk. Already looking forward to our next visit!

The hotel changed my reserved two queen size beds room to a less expensive room with one large bed without my consent, and refused to refund me the price difference. The breakfast selection was very limited, and the food was not very good. On the first day, the breakfast staff were attentive and courteous, but the service on the second and third days was only average. The staff member who brought an extra blanket to my room was patient and helpful, which I appreciated. However, when I checked out, the front desk staff were extremely unfriendly and impatient. She showed no smile throughout the entire interaction and came across as very cold and unwelcoming. Overall, I feel that this hotel was not worth the price I paid. The hotel lacked an overall sense of professionalism and service quality, which was especially disappointing for a four-star hotel.

Hotel was located near the shopping area. It is also within walking distance to the Chinatown. If you enjoy walking, it is also a short walk to Notre Dame and the port. There were many eateries nearby. There was a food court within the mall which was attached to the hotel. The food court offered a great variety of food types. The Boulongerie had fantastic sandwiches and pastries. If you are looking for halal food, there were 3 stalls that sold them. The food tasted good and the portion was generous.
