Lovely old world charm with a few rough edges. It has a really good bar but with erratic closing times which was very annoying. Unfortunately the hotel no longer operates it’s restaurant so whereas on prior visits the bar was a place to congregate and enjoy others company whilst having a meal this time it was obvious people came to have a quick drink and then went elsewhere for dinner. The atmosphere was completely destroyed…. very unfortunate and a loss of revenue for the hotel.
Other elements of the hotel were a little shabby like the worn lobby seats which need some attention. However the hotel still stands up as a lovely place to stay helped along by the friendly enthusiasm of the staff…. especially the front desk staff who seem like they really enjoy what they are doing.
Just hope the owners put a little more love into the hotel and as as bringing back meals to the bar, not just cold snacks.
