The Fairmont Gold experience was worth it. Staff was courteous and well trained. We really enjoyed the amenities that came with the booking.

Beautiful facilities and everything is clean, we will come back.

Iconic hotel

Beautiful hotel in a great location. My issue is specific to having a small child and a stroller. The accessibility wasn’t great. The property takes up a whole block, but only one entrance is accessible, so we either had to walk around a block (simple for some, but as a solo parent with 2 small kids - this is a nightmare at the end of a long day) or carry a stroller up more than one set of steps (which would not be possible for someone with greater accessibility needs). Additionally, I found the lobby and dining areas really dark and the music to a decibel bordering on night-club. Maybe I’m just getting old?? In any case - it’s a beautiful hotel, very clean and updated. My problems are “first world” problems. But if I’m paying the price this hotel charges, I would choose next time to stay somewhere equally as nice, with adequate lighting and better accessibility.

Front desk was super good to us. Lobby fragrance was constant cologne. Too much and too strong. Maybe I’m old but the lobby music was more fit for a night club or restaurant. Too much beat and bass and noise. Expected classic elegance from Royal York but got something else. Room was big. View of the first floor roof? Didn’t expect that for what we paid . Most expensive room I ever paid and got the worse view. A roof! Washroom was out of date. Family was not comfortable using it. Washroom smelled like sewage and no ventilation or fan. Oh and the TV was so small especially compared to size of room. Room wasn’t ready at check-in time. Almost one hour late.

Great hotel! A little dated but super clean and it’s a great location to walk around downtown Toronto.

My wife and stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Perfectly located across from Union Station and minutes to Roger’s Stafium and Scotiabank Arena. Everything is at your footsteps. We are frequent travellers and enjoy a well appointed hotel. The Royal York Toronto exceeded all our expectations. From reception to the housekeeping staff everyone is exceptional. We were treated royally by everyone. Our housekeeper Juanita was so kind and very helpful. Be sure to visit The Library Bar. This iconic bar is one of the top rated in North America. Service is outstanding and the cocktails and food are 5 star. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely stay at this beautiful hotel on our return to Toronto. Next time we will be sure to enjoy the state of the art fitness facility and the pool.

The hotel rooms are very dated. Had to go in the hallway to change my mind they were so tiny. Very busy as well and of course expensive $65.00 for bacon and eggs lol
