We had a wonderful stay at Savoy, Ooty. The overall hospitality, ambience, and restaurant experience were excellent. A special thanks to Mr. Raj Kumar from the restaurant team for his exceptional service. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. He took great care of our vegetarian dietary requirements, was attentive to our preferences, and always served us with a warm smile and professionalism. His dedication and genuine care made us feel truly valued as guests. Thank you, Raj Kumar, for making our stay even more memorable. If you’re looking for a heritage hotel with outstanding hospitality and personalized service, Savoy is an excellent choice. Be sure to dine at the restaurant and let the staff know your preferences—they will do their best to make your experience special.

Our stay was very good. We loved the service given by Mr Raj Kumar. He was very kind , friendly and helpful. My kid has some health condition where he could have only warm foods. MR Raj Kumar happily helped in reheating the food and very accommodating. He was always smiling and took care of our needs. He even suggested some sight seeing spots.

We came here as a large family and were greeted with open arms. The cleaning and hospitality staff are extremely friendly and helpful specifically, Sebastian. They took care of our kids and played with them without request. There are lovely activities like archery and fish pond feeder that our kids enjoyed. The rooms are quite dated and should be cleaner. Our first night we had no heat and had to rely on an oil heater for the rest. We were only offered a heater after asking. Considering the location and other surrounding hotels, prices are eye watering and frankly not transparent with huge bills provided unknowingly at the end. Though the overall experience was ok and the working staff exceptional in their service, value compared to other Taj properties is really lacking and management personnel do not share the exceptional performance. I do not plan to return.

Five stars all the way. True to the Tata tradition❤️ The pros totally outweigh the cons. Almost 200 year old property (197 to be precise), cottage style rooms, rooms with high ceiling ( rarer nowadays), very well maintained. Rooms are huge with a fireplace. Separate dressing room, compact bathrooms. Small room adjacen to the bedroom with sofa and a table. Stunning view everywhere ( situated in the heart of Nilgiris), greenery and flowers outside. Grass lawns with table and chairs, if you want to read in the natural sunlight. The property maintains the vintage beauty The staff in the reception, dining, cleaning and housekeeping -- were extremely courteous and provided a service with a smile. The family rooms had an adjoining door connecting 2 cottages, which was very convenient. Huge lawn for children tonplay, game rooms with board games, a foosball , miniature library. Breakfast and dinner timings are 7:15 to 10:15 am and 7:15 to 10:15 pm respectively. Huge breakfast spread. A la carte dinner for 2 nights and then a dinner buffet due to sudden inflow of guests. The staff and the chef made the food spicy, non-spicy without garlic . according to your taste. After 8 pm, the dinner room gets overcrowded though. Hotbag is provided on request to keep the bed warm in the night. High tea has coffee / tea with the Ooty famous varkeys. You can order snacks extra at your own cost. Jiva spa was good. Took a massage. Lily from Nagaland gave a comfortable massage. Vegetable garden was not to our expectations. Children can enjoy pony rides, cycle rides, play with bunnies. The staff were from different parts if India. You could see the national integration in Taj Savoy, Ooty👏🫡 Special shout out and thanks to the following staff: Chef Priya-- WB Arul Archana -- WB Santosh- Bihar Archana- WB Rahul- MP- Bhopal Sandy-- mettupalayam Cleaning lady-- Ooty Sebastian Few disadvantages/ cons: As I had mentioned, the pros outweighed the cons. Few lawn/ road lights were not working in the night. Had to use the phone torchlight The rooms were not at the same level, there was a level difference between the bedroom and dressing room, could pose a hazard for senior citizens and children, maybe.

Visited Taj Savoy after almost 40 years!! We had celebrated our honeymoon there in 1986. The hotel retains it's old world charm and the weather at the peak of summer in the Rest of India is to die for. Fully relaxing and rejuvenating, just being there. The new State Govt rules on alcohol services does put a bit of a dampener on enjoying the open air ambience, but all in all, a great place to visit and get refreshed and rejuvenated! Go for it.
