This was such a nice treat after our Norway adventure through small towns with small showers! The room was spacious and well-laid out. Even with the couch having to be opened for our son, it was still comfortable. Also plenty of surfaces to open luggage, tons of hooks for coats, and enough shelves for us to be able to be comfortable and not constantly opening and closing luggage in one spot. The bathroom was equally comfortable with a wonderful shower with enough space to wash your feet without having to do fancy contorsions - and again plenty of shelf space to lay out and open three toiletry bags easily. While we did not do the breakfast, I took a peek and it looked plentiful and wonderful - this is one thing that most Scandinavian hotels can claim - a wonderful, balanced, healthy and plentiful breakfast spread - and this hotel doesn't seem to fall short. The location is perfect - right in the middle of all of it - a quick walk from the ferry stop, and a quick walk from the metro stop, as well as close to all the tourist spots. Finally - it was wonderfully clean and well-maintained. All in all: highly recommend!

First time to Bergen and this was a prime location for everything! Beautiful scenery from my room, comfortable beds, helpful staff. Room was very clean but also a little too warm. Thank god the windows opened a little for a breeze. Would definitely stay here again! One suggestion would be to make breakfast free like all other hotels I stayed at in Norway.

Amazing Hotel. Staff very friendly, breakfast very nice. Only issue there was no room cleaning service for the entire week which was surprising.

The breakfast and location were great however the rest was just ok. The worst was the view from the room. It was an inside alley with other windows and kitchen staff that were emptying recycling at all hours.

Very reasonable price, by Norway standards. Excellent location, overlooking the harbour. Well positioned for bars, restaurants, boat trips etc. The staff were also friendly.

The location is amazing but the hotel itself was okay. We arrived 5 weeks into a country wide strike of hotel workers. This was not made clear to us at any point prior to our check in via email or alternative communication. We were told at the time of check in that we would get irregular room cleaning based on housing staff availability. We were caught off guard but since we already were there we weren't going to cancel our room. Since we were told there would be inconsistent room cleaning we decided to prioritize the middle of our trip to refresh the room. The front desk gentleman said he'll make a note and ask the housekeeping staff. It was not cleaned that day. We then followed up in the evening and were told that there would be no housecleaning at all during our stay. Eventually one of the front desk staff was courtesy enough to offer to refresh our room herself. She went above and beyond and we are appreciative of her efforts. However being misled at the time of check in and then 1-2 days into our stay to be told differently about cleaning offerings left a sour taste for our stay. If we knew there was no housekeeping we would have opted for an airbnb instead. Other issues - the room AC were warm despite being at the coldest settings. The rooms are very cramped. All of their base rooms are listed at 161 square feet. Which is basically 1 queen sized bed + barely enough room for two check in bags open on the floor.

Lovely place to stay right in the center of Bergen. Close to everything you need or want to see with a light rail stop nearby. Staff were quick and helpful. Room was updated, clean, and plenty large for 2 people. If driving, park at Kloster Garasjen for 15% off, doesn’t work with rental cars though because it bills the company automatically.

Clean facility, the breakfast is absolutely fantastic - and with the cost of food in Bergen it makes your stay more economical as well. Liked that coffee and tea was available in the lobby 24/7 as well.

Location can’t be beat, but the rest are just mediocre for the price. No lotion in the room, no slippers, etc. Breakfast was good.

The buffet breakfast was very good, with so many selections. A great value considering how expensive it is to eat in Norway. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. This is not a luxury hotel, but perfect if all you need is a place to sleep and eat a fulfilling breakfast. You can't beat the location, right on the waterfront, and a nice little bar on the ground floor for people watching.

My first trip to Norway and I hope to return but I will never stay at another Scandic hotel again. The Scandic Torget does not have enough tables in its restaurant. Two days running, I got up from my breakfast table to go and get another coffee, only to find that somebody had taken the table on my return and there wasn't a thing I could do about it. This is a problem particularly for solo travellers. What are we supposed to do? If we leave a bag, book or mobile phone to show the table is in use and it is stolen, the hotel will call us foolish for leaving it unguarded. I have travelled to 6 continents and I had NEVER previously been in the position where I had to argue/fight with other hotel guests over the right to sit at a table where I had already been seated!! This is a disgusting way for guests to be treated. It doesn't matter that one hour at breakfast might be busier than others, a hotel should still have an adequate number of tables. My advice to people heading for Bergen is to book inn at the Radisson or any other hotel rather than Scandic.

Being on the 3rd floor, I could easily hear people in the streets talking in the middle of the night. So my first night was a little bit uneasy at it was Saturday night and there were many people walking and speaking loudly. Even the curtains closed didn't improve my sleep. I'm wondering if people on the same floor who were staying on the harbour side were kept awaked by people in the streets after 23:00.....
