The property was conveniently located. The outside grounds were beautiful for lunch and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Shower was very tight.

Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms a tad small but more than adequate. Great outdoor garden where you can relax and have drinks from the adjacent bar. The fact that the weather was great made it even better. Recommend!

We stayed one night at a historic and cultural hotel which stood in a convenient location. We loved the spacious garden in the evening enjoying dinner there. Although the hotel has centuries of history, every corner of the hotel was well maintained by keeping the tradition and atmosphere at its original style. The room was a bit old (which the floor was a bit leaning), the two nights stay was comfortable and relaxing. For those visitors who cherish the value of history and traditions, this hotel would absolutely fit your taste. For those who is look for functional and modern facilities, this may not be the one. However, this hotel would be an eye opener to diversify your values of appreciating what our ancestors left for us.

Staff were awful, no welcome drink as advertised, stood and watched both of us struggle with our luggage (through doors and up stairs), decor in the very dated, shelves hanging off the wall (room 104), toilet stank of urine (room 104)… All reported and nothing done at all. No staff at reception on a Sat morning to check out for 10 mins so we just left.

Perfect for a stay in the centre of Winchester. Comfortable beds, nice rooms and bathroom. Staff were great, very helpful and the overnight carpark fee covers you until checkout. The bar was comfortable and had great recommendations too. Good value for money with a little feel of luxury. Have stayed here twice now and not been disappointed.

Friendly staff, hotel in a fantastic central location.

An unfortunate experience of poor service in an otherwise pleasant, perfectly located hotel. 1. Reception do not pick up calls and it takes 4-attempts before they answer. 2.The room phone was broken. I advised Reception that I wanted to order Room service and tried calling with my mobile but no one picked up. I had to take my toddler out at 19:30 in search of supper. I specifically stayed in the hotel to have access to room service. 3. The room phone was never replaced / fixed. So check out experience was rather stressful trying to exit the room with a toddler and several bags, that really required a porter to help us with. 4. Charges were applied for breakfast buffet we never had. I had to insist that I purposely prepaid for room only. I have a toddler and had no intent to eat in the restaurant. We only required room service. 5. Parking directions for the overflow require talking to reception several times. This information could easily be published on the website or sent in the confirmation email, including pictures of the obscured entrance.

Bed wasn’t comfortable. Pillows rock hard. Rooms very hot and small. They did however move us a slightly bigger room. 1:30am people in corridor shouting and laughing. There is a clear gap in the front door and corridor seen at the bottom. Talking about a good half inch. 3am wedding party in the gardens shouting and again very loud. Tried to call reception to alert and ask to quiet down as 3-4people shouting in the garden. No answer. Impossible to get through to reception. On check out I explained this and no care what so ever but proceeded to take the card machine out and say you owe us £10.

Breakfast choices were excellent. The buffet has eggs over easy , scrambled plus ham,sausage too much to mention. Plus real fresh bread, cereals any kind of coffee and hot drinks plus juices!

Nice quiet spacious clean room (carpet a bit frayed in places) - just what we needed for a business stay. Good location in quiet street but handy for the town centre.

The room was good it had a large en-suite with bath and separate shower. The staff were all very courteous.

Room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very helpful. Would have been nicer if breakfast was included and parking also.

Lovely hotel, staff friendly and helpful, nice breakfast, might want to Consider changing tea bags!!

The hotel was nice and clean. Some of the features within the room could do with updating. The TV was connected to the WiFi which is a nice touch, as most hotels have this feature disabled. Parking was limited, meaning we had to find some elsewhere.

Lovely hotel, lovely food and lovely staff. Very central location, a great place to stay
