We have visited Cancún every year and have always looked forward to our trips, but unfortunately this stay was a significant departure from the experiences we’ve come to expect.
The pool reservation system was a major source of frustration. Guests are effectively required to wake up at 4:00 AM just to secure a table — something we heard echoed by nearly every couple we spoke with during our stay. This is not what a vacation should feel like. On one occasion, a dispute over a poolside table escalated into a confrontation where another guest used inappropriate and offensive language in front of children. It was an uncomfortable and stressful situation that should never occur in a resort environment.
To make matters worse, the resort repeatedly ran out of pool towels — a basic amenity that a property of this size and price point simply should not struggle to keep stocked. It added yet another layer of inconvenience to what should have been a relaxing day by the pool.
Dining was equally disappointing. The reservation system was difficult to navigate, and missing a time slot meant struggling to find food at all. The menu options were quite limited, and as vegetarians, we found very little to choose from. What made it even more frustrating was that the resort consistently ran out of even the most basic food items — things like vanilla ice cream, cheese pizza, and beans. These are not exotic requests; they are staples one would expect to always be available at an all-inclusive resor
